Patent number: 6331500Abstract: The present invention relates to functionalized molecular sieves that are useful as shape-selective adsorbents and catalysts. The inventive molecular sieves have a crystalline framework and include micropores of substantially uniform size and shape formed therein. These micropores contain one or more accessible organic moieties that are linked to the crystalline framework by a carbon-silicon ond. Shape selectivity of the inventive molecular sieves may be modulated by varying the size and shape of the micropores (which is a function of the particular molecular sieve being synthesized) and the organic moiety incoporated therein.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 1998Date of Patent: December 18, 2001Assignee: California Institute of TechnologyInventors: Katsuyuki Tsuji, Christopher W. Patent number: 5505970Abstract: A method and apparatus for delivering a constant amount of dough per unit time is disclosed. Successive dough blocks (5) are transferred on a first conveyor (8) at times proportional to their weights. The predetermined theoretical traveling distances of the dough blocks and the actual traveling distances of the dough blocks on the first conveyor are compared to find the change of the volume or specific gravity of the dough due to fermentation. Based on the comparison the traveling speed of the first conveyor is changed to obtain a uniform amount of the dough product, and the gap between a second conveyor (11) and a stretching roller (12) may be adjusted to increase the rate at which the dough is produced.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 1994Date of Patent: April 9, 1996Assignee: Rheon Automatic Machinery Co., Ltd.Inventor: Michio Morikawa

Patent number: 5336398Abstract: A simple, rapid, efficient and inexpensive process for on-site recycling of wastewater with minimal odor wherein the solid wastes generated by the water treatment process are dewatering on-site by solar energy to water content levels below those required for disposal. All operations, including solar dewatering, are accomplished in a compact unit which may be mobile. The solar dewatering unit includes a drying pan over which a solar collector window arrangement is disposed. In the process, wastewater, a water purifying composition and an oxidizing agent are additively mixed together in a first reactor settling tank and the resulting composition is neutralized to a pH of between 7.5-9.4. The added water purifying composition is then allowed to precipitate wherein it binds to and precipitates heavy metals as well as other impurities. The precipitated purifying composition forms a non-hazardous sludge at the bottom of the tank.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 1993Date of Patent: August 9, 1994Assignee: Container-Care International, Inc.Inventors: Larry L.
