  • Patent number: 5007810
Abstract: A scroll-type compressor or other rotating machine employs a crankshaft having an integral counterweight to compensate for the off-axis orbiting motion of the device's orbiting scroll. The crankshaft is unitarily formed with a generally cylindrical crank portion at an upper end of the shaft, and with the counterweight formed immediately adjacent the crank. The counterweight is preferably in the form of a segment of a cylinder of smaller radius than that is disposed within the radius of the cylindrical passage of the stator. This permits the rotor and shaft assembly, with counterweight, to be assembled from below after installation of the stator.

  • Patent number: 4995252
Abstract: A method and machine for forming internal enhancement ribs in heat exchanger pipe or tubing comprises a mandrel which is supported within the tubing and a plurality of opposed rotary dies which have their axes perpendicular to the tube axis so that they rotate in the direction parallel to the tube axis. The rotary dies have a circumferential contact portion that has a concave arcuate profile. In one embodiment, the circumferential surface is scalloped with a succession of axially raised portions. In another embodiment, the rotary die carries a plurality of circumferential rollers.

  • Patent number: 4971143
Abstract: A stator row is disposed between a propeller fan and a heat exchanger coil, such as the outdoor or condenser coil of a packaged terminal air conditioning unit. The stator row is situated against the heat exchanger coil on the fan facing side. The stator row has a frame that substantially matches the periphery of the coil, a ring disposed coaxially with the hub of the propeller fan, and a suitable number of radial stator vanes that extend from the ring to the frame.

  • Patent number: 4949114
Abstract: A device for introducing the free end of a negative film unwound from a reel into a developing unit. The device is constituted by a clamp formed by a lower shell and an upper shell articulated about an axis parallel to the spindle of the reel. The clamp includes a cylindrical cradle adapted to receive the reel and prevent rotation of the reel during unwinding of the film. A rectilinear portion of the clamp is contiguous with the cradle and is adapted to guide the film during unwinding. The rectilinear portion includes two parallel paths for guiding the film. The rectilinear portion includes a first window for passage of a blade of a cutting member for cutting the film when the unwinding of the film is complete. The rectilinear portion includes a second window for passage of a pair of press rollers for advancing the film.
