Abstract: Apparatus for automatically securing borderwires on mattress innersprings, comprising support members for receiving borderwires and a mattress innerspring in stacked, properly oriented relation to one another. A drive mechanism is provided for automatically sequentially advancing the borderwires and the mattress innerspring along the support members to a clip wrapping station where a plurality of clips are simultaneously wrapped on the borderwires and the coils of the mattress innerspring. Control elements are provided for sensing when clips are to be wrapped, and when a predetermined number of clips have been wrapped on each side and each end of borderwires and the mattress innerspring.
Abstract: A sheet material for use in the production of multi-part pressure sensitive adhesive articles such as labels. In one of its forms, the sheet material consists carbonless paper having a coating or film of a silicone release agent on the imageable side thereof. In other of its forms, a coating or layer of a polymer composition, which acts to accelerate curing the silicone release agent, is interposed between the imageable side of the self-contained carbonless paper and the coating or film of silicone release agent.

Abstract: The assembly of individual segments to obtain large-volume containers is facilitated by the edges of the individual segments being provided with projecting support members including cut-outs in which an aligning tool is insertable; an engaging element of said tool for aligning said one individual segment relative to the adjacent segment, which along the edge thereof is in contact with the edge of the first-mentioned individual segment, being brought into engagement with a surface of said adjacent individual segment so that the engaging element will ride or roll along the surface of said adjacent individual segment due to a pivoting or lever movement, the two edges being simultaneously brought to an aligned, coincident position.
Abstract: An apparatus for cleaning a residential water heater 10 or the like without the need for draining and re-filling the tank. The water heater is generally vertically disposed and has a cylindrical side wall 12, a top 14, and a bottom 16. A water supply tube 20 terminates in a nozzle 22 which permits entry of a stream of water 24 in a generally horizontal spray pattern along the bottom to flush and agitate any foreign matter 38 along the bottom. A drain cock 28 is provided within the heater side wall and opposite the nozzle, the drain cock being opened upon flushing of the bottom of the water heater so that any foreign matter is removed through the drain cock. In lieu of a simple, single-orificed nozzle, a multiple-orifices nozzle 22b or a plurality of nozzles may be provided.
Abstract: Improved nail guide and positioning means for use in pneumatically operated and manually operated nailing machines. The nail guide and positioning means acts to maintain each nail, including the last nail, of a nailing strip used in the machine in proper alignment with the nail driving blade of the machine and a workpiece.
Abstract: An improved low water neutralization energy-saving process for the preparation of an alkaryl sulfonate by combining an alkaryl sulfonic acid with a salt-forming base, and utilizing the heat generated during the neutralization reaction to drive off the water present in the reaction mixture.
Abstract: A workstation or terminal table utility for use with electronic information devices. The workstation incorporates selectively adjustable means for enabling an operator to most effectively and efficiently use the devices supported on the workstation while at the same time minimizing muscle fatigue and strain during operation of the devices.

Abstract: Lubricant compositions adapted for use under extreme pressure, high temperature and high speed conditions comprising a major proportion of an oil or grease base material, having a dropping point above about 300.degree. F., and a minor proportion of an additive system containing as an essential component an inorganic phosphate salt, or mixture thereof, in solid form. Preferred salts are alkaline earth metal ortho- or pyrophosphates exemplified by dicalcium phosphate.
Abstract: An improved eyeglass merchandizing display eliminating use of display panel openings for supporting pairs of eyeglasses comprising a vertical panel having a planar display surface. Integrally formed on the display surface are aligned pairs of eyeglass holding members including a base leg projecting from the display surface and a support leg angularly joined to the base leg. The support leg angling inward to the display surface and preferably the base leg angling slightly upward toward the top of the panel to snuggly carry eyeglasses on the support members and displaying said eyeglasses in a position parallel to the display surface.
Abstract: In order to enable accurate regulation of the automatic opening of explosion cover plates at predetermined differences in pressure the cover plate is not only retained in a rubber-elastic sealing clamping section but additionally is supported by at least one counter-support, e.g. as shown in FIG. 2, constituted by a lever arm which will be swung from its supporting position when the limit load is exceeded.
Abstract: A pneumatically operated nailing machine having a reciprocatable blade for driving nails when advanced, and a reciprocatable differential piston unit connected to the blade. The reciprocatable differential piston unit has an upper, small diameter piston and a lower, large diameter piston interconnected by a piston rod. The upper, small diameter piston has valve means for venting any air under pressure therebelow to atmosphere when the blade is advanced by the reciprocatable differential piston. Nail guide and positioning means are provided for the machine for maintaining each nail of a nailing strip in proper alignment with the blade and a workpiece when the blade is advanced. Nail feeder means is provided for the machine for maintaining the nails of a nailing strip in proper alignment as they are sequentially advanced into the nail guide and positioning means.
Abstract: A unique ingestible and retrievable ambulatory esophageal monitor for colorimetric analysis of ambient pH within selected portions of the esophagus comprising a nasoesophgeal conduit at least one generally transparent semi-permeable envelope carried proximal the distal end of the conduit for positioning within the distal esophagus. The envelope contains an ion exchange color indicator composition comprised of a weak cation exchange substance selected from the group comprising a resin, a cellulose or an agarose and intermixed and bound therein being an indicator dye preferably either methylene blue or azure A. The ion exchange substance having a disassociation potential (pK) of at least 4 so that the indicator dye selectively disassociates causing the envelope to visually discolorize when exposed to a clinically significant ambient pH of 4 or less within the esophagus.

Abstract: A tackable acoustical structure comprising a tack pin retaining layer, a sound absorptive layer, and a metal foil septum separating the tack pin retaining layer and the sound absorptive layer. The structure can be formed into wall panels having a flame spread index which qualifies them as a Class A rated building materials.
Abstract: A manually operated nailing machine having nail guide and positioning means for positively and unerringly maintaining a nail to be driven into a workpiece in proper alignment with the nail driving means of the machine and a workpiece. The nail guide and positioning means is interchangeable enabling the machine to be used with nails of different lengths.
Abstract: A childproof protective device adapted to be secured on an electrical wall outlet. The device includes a plate having openings therethrough which are in register with the plug receptacles of the outlet when the device is mounted thereon. The plates carries a pair of slidable doors or panels which can be releasably locked in position to prevent a child from gaining access to the plug receptacles.
Abstract: Substantially cylindrical and relatively thin-walled large volume containers such as silos are interiorly supported by means of a supporting structure in the form of a triangular supporting triangle, which is fixedly joined to the inner container wall. Thereby an essential amount of radial loads is converted into loads working in circumferential direction, i.e., working tangentially on the container wall, so that the risk of deformations is reduced when the load transmitting members such as pipes provided inside the container are joined to the supporting structure.
