  • Patent number: 4825811
Abstract: An animal feeding device, especially for pigs, has an overhead feed metering or regulation mechanism formed of a cylindrical member resting in a slot across the bottom of a feed hopper to close the slot and prevent feed from falling from the hopper. The bottom of the member is accessible from below the slot and the pig causes feed to fall from the slot by pushing the member up with its nose to open the slot. When the member is released by the pig, it falls back down into the slot to close same. The member can be a tube or pipe retained in operable open and closed position by a rod extending therethrough.

  • Patent number: 4823478
Abstract: The freeze dryer device of the invention furnishes automatic operational, power outage and defrost control providing for an operator to perform other productive activities during operation of the freeze drying device. Upon initiation by the user, the operational control conditions the freeze drying device to receive bottles of frozen sample product to be freeze dried. Upon the drying device becoming properly conditioned in temperature and pressure, the device of the invention provides the user an indication to apply the sample bottles to the device. The power outage control protects the integrity of the samples applied to the drying device by sensing both temperature and pressure before returning to normal operation. If either temperature or pressure are above certain values after the power outage, the device of the invention stops normal operation by opening manifold chamber to atmospheric pressure while maintaining the refrigeration system operating.

  • Patent number: 4808495
Abstract: An insulating battery cover is configured to be locked into place by insertion of either one of a pair of connectors making contact with the battery. The cover is designed for use with batteries having insertion-type terminals configured to accept inserted connectors. A pair of shell-forming projections are provided integral with the housing and configured to accommodate the battery terminals when the cover is in place. An aperture in each projection is configured to allow insertion of the associated connector. Portions of the cover local to the projections are provided, and arrestingly engage exterior insulating portions of the connectors to hinder removal of the cover unless both connectors have been removed.

  • Patent number: 4805796
Abstract: A dual gas pressure vessel assembly comprising a pressure vessel shell, a piston dividing the interior of the shell into a first chamber and a second chamber, an exhaust passage leading from a portion of said first chamber spaced from the piston, a stop limiting movement of the piston towards the exhaust passage, and a burster disc in the piston. The piston carries frangible coupling means rigidly coupling the piston to the shell. In use the two chambers are respectively filled with the two gases required. When the exhaust passage is opened the first gas will be discharged from the first chamber, the piston will move against the stop and, when substantially all the first gas has been discharged, the burster disc will fracture, connecting the second chamber to the exhaust passage.

  • Patent number: 4806926
Abstract: Diodes are used for memorizing an identification number. A microcomputer judges a combination of diodes and decides an identification number corresponding to that combination. The microcomputer is connected directly to a battery. Whether the audio device provided with an antitheft device according to this invention is stolen or not is judged, depending on whether it is connected without interruption to the battery or not. It is judged that the device is stolen, only when the battery has been once disconnected, and in this case the microcomputer doesn't allow the audio device to work, unless the identification number is newly inputted.

  • Patent number: 4804984
Abstract: A packaged camera assembly comprises a camera enclosed by a clam shell container of elongated rectangular shape so that the container is at least about twice as long as it is wide. A camera is supported between closely confronting transparent main walls of front and rear sections of the clam shell container which have outwardly projecting pockets for receiving the front and rear halves respectively of the camera. The camera is supported in the container so that the long dimension of its front face angles at least about 45 degrees and preferably about 60 degrees from the narrow dimension of the container. The container preferably has a display card sandwiched between said transparent main walls, the card having an aperture through which the camera passes. The container has support means along its long and short margins to support the packaged assembly upright for display with its long dimension upright or horizontal.

  • Patent number: 4803094
Abstract: The invention is a method for the vapor deposition of a thin metal film onto a polymeric surface. The method comprises the steps of placing the polymeric surface within a vacuum chamber, and evacuating the chamber to a near-perfect vacuum. The chamber is next filled with argon gas. Sufficient voltage and amperage are applied to the argon gas within the chamber to electrically excite that gas, thereby creating a cloud of free argon electrons which prepare or impart a charge to the polymeric surface. The argon is then evacuated from the chamber, and the chamber is then placed at a suitable plating vacuum. The improvement in the present invention comprises the use of a metal yarn comprised of thin strands of that metal. A conventional electrode, such as a tungsten electrode, disposed within the chamber and wrapped with this yarn is energized sufficiently to rapidly vaporize the metal. The rapidly vaporized metal is transported towards and then coated onto the prepared, charged polymeric surface.
