  • Patent number: 6641319
Abstract: A dispenser (10) for use in dispensing liquid or solid material. The dispenser (10) includes wall portions forming a sealed first chamber (18) containing the material and wall portions forming a second chamber (20) and a molded, rupturable membrane (34) disposed between the first chamber (18) and the second chamber (20). The rupturable membrane (34) is preferably a circular disk with a series of molded radial depressions (40) or weld seams (40) extending from a center point of the disk. When pressure is applied directly to the membrane (34), the membrane (34) is fractured along the depressions (40) or weld seams (40). A method is provided for forming the dispenser (10) by injection molding.

  • Patent number: 6620305
Abstract: An electrolytic process for the preparation of a compound having a charged electrolytic cell fitted with at least one anode and at least one cathode in a single compartment with a reaction mixture. An electric potential is applied to the at least one anode and at least one cathode under conditions to promote formation of a compound on one of the cathodes or the anode to define a formation electrode. The formation electrode is then agitated.

  • Patent number: 6619600
Abstract: The present invention-provides a welded-frame assembly of a barbecue gas grill, or an accessory cart. The frame assembly comprises a plurality of elongated support members and a plurality of elongated channel members having at least a portion of generally U-shaped cross section and including an inner welding surface and an outer cosmetic surface. The channel members are disposed transverse to the support members and arranged such that their ends abut against the support members. A plurality of weld joints are each disposed on the inner welding surface of the channel members and a portion of the support members. The weld joints provide attachment of the support members and the channel members to form the welded frame assembly without substantial discoloration of the outer cosmetic surfaces of the channel members. Furthermore, the weld joints are substantially concealed for aesthetic purposes.

  • Patent number: 6612528
Abstract: A compound mounting bracket for attaching a solenoid to a structure is disclosed. The compound mounting bracket comprises a first and second plate, each having a first edge and a second distal edge. The second distal edge of the first plate is connectable to a first mounting point on a solenoid. The second distal edge of the second plate extends in a direction generally transverse to the first edge of the second plate, thereby defining a dihedral angle between the first plate and the second plate. The second plate is connectable at its second distal edge to a second mounting point on the solenoid.

  • Patent number: 6613210
Abstract: A method of imaging molecules of interest within a biological sample includes shining a UV light onto the sample and detecting the molecular UV absorption. Where the molecules of interest are themselves UV absorbers, the intrinsic absorption of those molecules may be used. If the molecules of interest are not good UV absorbers, UV-aborbing tag molecules may be use. The method may be used in molecular imaging devices of all types, and in DNA sequences. A novel diamond-based detector is disclosed which is suitable for many applications.

  • Patent number: 6606532
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a system LSI is disclosed, in which the running cost such the power consumption is not increased even in the case where the hardware, and software are reused for reducing the manufacturing cost. The method for manufacturing a system LSI, having at least a processor and a memory in a single chip, comprises the steps of preparing a system LSI in the stage where a preset common process has been complete, determining the working area for activating an application program mounted on the system LSI based on the datapath width of the processor and the word length and the number of words of the memory used for activating the application program, and completing the manufacture of the system LSI in such a manner that no power is supplied to the area other than the working area. In this way, the hardware and software are reused without increasing the power consumption or other running costs.

  • Patent number: 6599618
Abstract: This invention relates to a photocatalytic dielectric element placed upon polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) refractors and lamp covers to provide a self-cleaning surface for use on roadway lighting fixtures. The photocatalytic dielectric element is comprised of a series of hard durable thin dielectric film layers that can be tailored to selectively reflect UV with a plurality of dielectric layers having indices of refraction greater than 2.0. The photocatalytic dielectric element is otherwise transmissive to light at all other wavelengths. In addition, the photocatalytic dielectric element can concentrate photons generating from the light fixture, or from direct sunlight within a narrow range of wavelengths on the outer surface of the polytetrafluoroethylene refractor or lamp cover.
