Abstract: Temperature control valve apparatus for preventing back flow from a cold water line into a hot water line includes a housing having an inlet or connection to a hot water line, an outlet for a connection to a cold water line and an interconnecting bore with a valve seat. A removable valve plug is disposed in the bore proximate the valve seat and a valve spring biases the valve plug in a spaced apart relationship with the valve seat for enabling water to flow therepast and through the housing from the hot water line to the cold water line. A thermal actuator disposed in an operative position for moving the valve plug to a seating position against the valve plug is provided to prevent water flow therepast from the cold water line to the hot water line.

Abstract: A medical electrode includes a moderately conductive flexible member having a top side and a bottom side with a plurality of highly conductive patterns disposed on the conductive flexible member bottom side in a spaced apart relationship. A moderately highly conductive layer disposed on the conductive flexible member bottom side and covering the conductive patterns, for adhering the electrode to a patient's skin. A connector is provided for establishing electrical contact with an external apparatus. The connector includes a leadwire having conductive portions in electrical communication with the conductive patterns and non-conductive portions between the conductive patterns. Control over conductivity between the leadwire conductive portion and the conductive pattern is provided.

Abstract: Bather movement apparatus for use with a sidewall opening bath enclosure generally includes a chaise, a stanchion having a stirrup for supporting the chaise along with a pivot post extending exterior to the bath enclosure and a pivot arm interconnecting the pivot post and stanchion for enabling arcuate movement of the chaise between a bathing position within the bath enclosure and a doorway position outside of the bath enclosure. The movement of the chaise passes the chaise through the bath enclosure side opening.

Abstract: A water flow regulation system includes a pair of water valves having turnable stems for controlling water flow through the valves and a pair of pinions, one fixed to each of the valve stems. A toothed rack is provided which is sized and configured for engagement with the pinions. A housing supports the valves and rack with teeth of both pinions engaging the rack teeth in order that translational movement of the rack causes simultaneous rotation of the pinions with concomitant simultaneous opening and closing of the valves. A remote control and a sheathed cable interconnecting said remote control and the rack are provided for operation of the system.

When applied to the eye, eyelid and orbit, this device can be used in hypothermia or hyperthermia applications, the control of intraocular pressure (IOP), and the application of treatment modalities. Methods of using the device in treating patients suffering from central retinal artery occlusion, anterior optic nerve disease, pathology of the choroid and retina including the macula, inflammation of the eye including the vitreous and anterior segment, glaucoma, inflammation and/or infections of the anterior and/or posterior segment of the eye, treatment before/during/after surgery of the eye, and the application of treatment modalities including iontophoresis through a semi-permeable membrane are described.

Any interim contour portions (24) which have formed between the insertion positions during repositioning of the cutting edge (3) are removed again during the next insertion (41). The resulting rotationally symmetrical surface is twist-free. The method can be implemented using conventional lathes.
