Abstract: A method for treating root canals includes directing an oxidizing gas onto an open root canal through a needle, maintain a presence of the oxidizing gas onto the root canal for a period of time sufficient to kill microorganisms therein, and preventing escape of the oxidizing gas from the root canal. Apparatus for a treatment of root canals includes a source of oxidizing gas, a handpiece, a needle extending from said handpiece and receivable in a tooth root canal. The needle includes an oxidizing gas delivery lumen therethrough, and a cup is attached to the handpiece and surrounding the needle.

Abstract: A combo slide-window awning system for motor homes and recreational vehicles having an extendable coach slider includes an encasement, a slider awning and a window awning. First and second roll bars are disposed within the encasement and attached respectively to the slider awning and the window awning within the encasement. Independent of operation of the roll bars enables independent operation of the slider awning and the window awning.

The non-liquid water containing film includes an electrically conductive organic polymer plasticized with a polyhydric alcohol with said organic polymer being derived from a monomeric mixture comprising from about 2 to 30 pph acrylic acid, 2 to 30 pph of a glycolvinylether and 0.01 to 1.5 pph of a crosslinking agent. Preferably the polyhydric alcohol is glycerol.

The fluorometer comprises the following main components, a light input for receiving the fluorescing light, a collimating lens, a Fabry-Perot etalon, two dichroic mirrors, a Brewster angle wedge prism, and an output for reading the fluorescence.

Abstract: The invention provides a medical device having a thermister for temperature measurement, irrigation/aspiration ports for fluid exchange and application of therapeutic modalities, a pressure manometer for pressure measurement, and an external system for control of temperature, pressure, and flow rate. When applied to the eye and orbit, this device can be used in hypothermia or hyperthermia applications, the control of intraocular pressure (IOP), and the application of treatment modalities. Methods of using the device in treating patients suffering from central retinal artery occlusion, anterior optic nerve disease, pathology of the choroid and retina including the macula, inflammation of the eye including the vitreous and anterior segment, glaucoma, inflammation and/or infections of the anterior and/or posterior segment of the eye, treatment before/during/after surgery of the eye, and the application of treatment modalities through a semi-permeable membrane are described.

Abstract: Seal apparatus includes a cover seal having a body and an extending cylindrical sleeve with the sleeve including a radial internal groove. A piston is provided having a circumferential groove and a biasing element is disposed between the internal and circumferential groove. Abstract: A window awning mounting system suitable for a non-planar surface includes a housing containing a roll of awning. A forearm is provided and includes a header at one end thereof attached to a leading edge of the roll up awning. A bracket mounted on the non-planar surface is provided for securing and stabilizing one end of the forearm. A spring loaded tension arm having one end attached to the forearm is provided and an arm bracket, which is separate from the housing bracket, pivotally attaches both a second end of the forearm and a second end of the tension arm.

Abstract: A narrow profile, glare reducing, posterior chamber intraocular lens comprises an optic having an anterior surface and a posterior surface and an optical axis. The posterior surface is formed having two adjacent peri-axial, stepped imaging zones, the two imaging zones having the substantially the same optical power. A transition zone between the two imaging zones preferably has a surface of continuous curvature shaped to reduce direct glare from light incident on the transition zone in an individual's eye in which the intraocular lens is implanted by internal reflection of direct light incident on the transition zone. Attachment members joined to the optic position the intraocular lens in an eye with the optical axis of the optic generally aligned with the optical axis of the eye. In variations, the transition zones are formed at the optic edge to minimize direct and indirect in the eye of an individual wearing the intraocular lens.
