  • Patent number: 4630657
Abstract: A versatile router guide apparatus or kit is disclosed comprising a pair of side rails and a pair of headpieces, which may be releasably secured together to form a "modified box type" router guide. When so secured the guide may be clamped to a workpiece between the headpieces and a router moved in the guide to form transverse dadoes or cuts therein. Bridges are also provided that may be temporarily fixed across the rails at strategic positions therealong, and projecting router stops attached to headpieces so that precise interrupted cuts or dadoes can be made in the workpiece. Further, the router may be releasably positioned within the guide, at one location relative to the guide and the guide unclamped and moved longitudinally along the workpiece to make longitudinal cuts or grooves therein.

  • Patent number: 4591356
Abstract: An arm band for stabilizing an intravenous needle inserted into a patient's vein. The arm band is provided with a hole in the body thereof, spaced from a side edge of the band. The hole is dimensioned to surround the needle. The band is further formed with a slit from a side edge thereof to the hole, to provide opposing flaps which open to permit passage over the tube part of the inserted intravenous needle. A strip is secured at one end thereof to the band on one side of the slit. The free end of the strip is extended over the slit, causing the edge of the hole to surround the needle. The free end of the strip is provided with means to secure it to the band on the other side of the slit, thereby obtaining the stabilization of the intravenous needle.

  • Patent number: 4520563
Abstract: A reciprocating saw attachment for a chain saw whereby the rotating chain saw drive converts the attachment to reciprocating movement to operate a saw blade longitudinally remote from the chain saw tool. It comprises a guide bar having one end formed to replace the prior art guide bar. The guide bar of this invention is formed with a slotted aperture in the body thereof and carries a sprocket wheel at the distal end of the guide bar. An endless link chain encircles the edge of the guide bar, the sprocket drive of the chain saw motor and the sprocket wheel mounted on the guide bar. A slide block is reciprocally movable in the slotted aperture and driven by a crank lever connecting the sprocket wheel and the slide block. A longitudinal pole is mounted on the guide bar for distally supporting an elongated push rod mounted on the guide bar for reciprocal movement. The proximate end of the elongated push rod is linked to the slide block.

  • Patent number: 4486986
Abstract: A foundation drain system comprising the combination of a footing, the first course of masonery blocks on the footing having a drain notch for each hollow space on the infacing side of each block. Irregular size and shape stones provided in each of the hollow spaces of the first course of blocks to a level above the notch. A bed of irregular size and shape stones on the interior of the foundation construction contiguous to the footing and to the first course of blocks to a level above the drain notches. A drain tile along the interior perimeter of the footing adjacent thereto in the bed of stones and a discharge pipe connecting the drain pipe extending to the exterior of the foundation.

  • Patent number: 4421209
Abstract: A lift apparatus comprising a wheeled base and a post mounted upright on the base. A fork lift having a guide frame which straddles the post and provided with rollers to travel on the post. The post is comprised of a plurality of interchangeable post segments releasably connected end to end. A winch mounted on one of the interchangeable post segments and a cable connected thereto and to the fork lift is operable to raise and lower the fork lift. This one post segment carries a bar to engage the guide frame to pivot the fork lift to a position parallel to this post segment to provide a compact arrangement and maintain the cable taut when the lift is disassembled. The winch includes a narrow groove cable pulley or spool so that connecting the winch device centrally of the post segment positions the rotational plane of the pulley in the center of the post with the result that no side resultant forces will be produced by the cable and no bracing required.

  • Patent number: 4416314
Abstract: Two intersecting slots are provided in the longitudinally spaced blade connecting parts of the hacksaw frame. One of the intersecting slots extends transversely from one lateral side of the blade connecting frame part to the center thereof. A hole is provided extending from the base of the slot, opening to the other lateral side of the blade connecting frame part. A second hole is provided therein extending from the base of the slot transversely into the frame part. The other intersecting slot extends in a longitudinal direction in the blade connecting frame part. The end of the hacksaw blade is fitted in the other slot and the anchor hole in the end of the blade is aligned with the second mentioned hole. A "U" shaped connecting pin is fitted in the transverse slot so that one leg of the pin passes through the hole and the end of the leg extends distally spaced from the other lateral sides of the frame part. The other leg of the connecting pin is truncated and extends into the second hole.

  • Patent number: 4392017
Abstract: This invention operates in combination with a cradle supported telephone handset. It includes an electric switch operated by a variable timer which is set to operate at various times of a period of absence and for lengths of time selected by the occupant of a dwelling prior to vacating or leaving his dwelling. The electric current which is controlled by the switch energizes an electromagnetic coil periodically as preselected on the timer. The energizing of the electromagnetic coil operates to lift a shaft the end of which is formed to support the telephone handset and by which means the telephone handset is lifted from its cradle position on the telephone to close the telephone switch and thereby render the telephone in operating condition producing a busy signal indicative of occupancy.
