  • Patent number: 7395440
Abstract: The invention relates to an electronic device comprising at least two power management circuits and a signal line connecting the circuits. Each of the circuits is adapted to control a power supply to at least one functional component of the electronic device. Each of the circuits is adapted to detect a condition which requires powering down functional components of said electronic device and to set the signal line to a predetermined state, in case the circuit detects a condition which requires a powering down of the electronic device. Further, each of the circuits is adapted to monitor a state of the signal line and to power down all functional components associated to it upon detection of the predetermined state of the signal line.

  • Patent number: 6160882
Abstract: To establish a connection to a terminal (TE5) of a subscriber access network (AN), a connection request directed to the terminal and containing a public number (CN) corresponding to the number of the terminal in a first public numbering range is routed to a switching unit (SSP, SCP) of the subscriber access network. From the public number (CN), the switching unit (SSP, SCP) determines that of two or more private branch exchanges (PABX1 to PABX3) of the subscriber access network in whose private numbering range the public number (CN) is assigned to the terminal (TE5) as an extension number. The switching unit (SSP, SCP) forms a virtual number (CVN) from the public number (CN) and an identification assigned to the determined private branch exchange (PABX2), and enters this virtual number (CVN) in the connection request. The connection request with this virtual number is then routed to the determined private branch exchange (PABX2) to initiate the establishment of the connection to the terminal.

  • Patent number: 6097701
Abstract: A shaper (1) in a stream of data packets provides for compliance with the agreements about the packet traffic of each virtual connection. It contains means (11) for the intermediate storage and read-out of data packets and for extracting the packet clock, furthermore a control (12) which reads the packets of the different connections into the data stream at the right time. The selection of the data packet takes place on the basis of a rank which is established for each data packet located at the front of the virtual waiting line of the individual connection. With each packet clock the rank is incremented in accordance with the agreed bandwidth for this connection; thus, for each clock a new calculation for the highest two connections for which a data packet advances again to the head of the virtual waiting line, is sufficient. Two processing units (21, 24) are provided.
