Abstract: An improved bird feeder for feeding liquid food to hummingbirds and the like having an integral liquid food shutoff and a liquid food metering receptacle to control, at the reservoir face, the amount of liquid food available to the hummingbirds responsive to the removal of liquid food by the hummingbirds.
Abstract: An openable cover for a pickup truck body, or the like, that is rotatably operable about an internally mounted, stationary pivot means disposed adjacent the inside top, forward end of the cover so that the cover may be rotated about the pivot between open and closed positions with respect to the body through the use of suitable drive means disposed within and connected between the body and cover.
Abstract: A portable draft bar is demountably attached to a horizontally disposed surface of an earth-working implement that is adjustably disposed on an earthmoving vehicle by providing an elongated draft bar that is adapted at its rear end to be driveably attached to the rear portion of a horizontally-disposable surface of an earth-working implement, such as a front end loader, and which is slidably disposed in a clamp adapted to be clamped to a forward portion of the work surface so as to provide three-dimensional stability and connection of the draft bar to the vehicle for use as, for example, in moving trailers and the like.
Abstract: A capacitance sensing security system in which comparison/reference and sensing oscillator are coupled together to operate in substantial frequency synchronism, each of the oscillators includes an amplifier having input and output terminals and a feedback circuit including a capacitor connected to the input terminals, the feedback circuit connected to the sensing oscillator exhibiting a low capacitive reactance, the input terminals of the sensing oscillator being connected to one or more objects to be secured so that extraneous transient signals appearing at or on the objects do not affect the phase/frequency of the sensing oscillator, the resistive component being substantially greater than the resistance of the input terminals and is provided either by adjusting the value of the capacitive component in the feedback circuit and/or disposing a resistor in series therewith.
Abstract: A fireplace combustion system in which a sealed firebox contains: a base having apertures connected to a source of combustion air and wherein a hollow grate is connected to one of the apertures to conduct combustion air to a quantity of fuel disposed on the grate; a plurality of baffles and deflectors are utilized to direct the products of combustion above the grate for flow through a quantity of porous refractory material so that the refractory material is heated by the products of combustion to a temperature sufficient to ignite the unburned gases present; and a flue for exhausting the products of combustion. The grate is provided with a plurality of apertures at various levels above the bottom to supply combustion air at varying temperatures at different locations in the burning fuel. Suitable valve means are used to control the amount and direction of the air flow through the apertures in the base to different primary and secondary burning zones in the firebox.
Abstract: A portable manger divider that is easily attached to, and removed from, a stall frame and stanchion for livestock which includes a flat rectangular divider provided with upper and lower mounting means which abut to, and engage, a vertical member and are maintained in engagement by a mounting means disposed intermediate the upper and lower mounting means. A horizontally extending member which engages adjacenty disposed vertical portions of the stanchion and/or stall member may extend across horizontally spaced apart stanchion or stall members.
Abstract: The saw mount includes a support member having a vertical collar on its horizontal flange which encircles an upstanding tubular post on a flat base plate that can be bolted to a conventional workshop table. Projecting horizontally from the vertical flange of the support member are two tubular rails having inwardly facing horizontal slots. Within the tubular rails are telescopically received additional tubes having a generally U-shaped cross section with strips or flanges secured thereto and projecting outwardly through the slots so that a turntable can be detachably carried by the strips or flanges. Alternatively, the rails may be of solid or closed tubular configuration and the turntable supported by generally complementary configured, horizontally spaced apart support members adapted to be slidably supported on the rails. The turntable has an opening of sufficient width therein so that the work can be viewed through a transparent sheet of plastic overlying said opening.
Abstract: A foldable shelter is disclosed having a flexible skin with an inner U-shaped support frame and a pair of resilient top support members attached to the exterior of the top of the skin.
Abstract: A portable spa having a vertically rigid side wall, and a flexible inner including inflatable seat chambers which may be connected in series for filling with a fluid and inflatable backrest chambers which are partially filled with fluid and air.
Abstract: A portable, disposable glove dispensing system which can be worn by the user, having a support and attachment plate member to which are securely attached a plurality of gloves, and optionally, a frangible line of detachment, waist strap members, apertures for attachment to the user's belt and a stabilizer band may be included.
Abstract: A condensing mode furnace fired by a gun-type, power fluid fuel burner, such as an oil or gas burner, as a heat exchanger with a combustion chamber therein and communicating therewith. A duct carries the products of combustion from the heat exchanger to a thin and tube type condenser. An exhaust vent carries the products of combustion and condensate from the condenser, a drain line removing the condensate from the exhaust vent. A blower in the exhaust vent causes a flow of the products of combustion from the heat exchanger through the condenser and exhaust vent. An air passage surrounds the heat exchanger and condenser and a blower causes a flow of air serially over the condenser and heat exchanger to a hot air outlet. The furnace control initiates operation of the vent blower in response to a thermostat calling for heat in advance of operation of the burner thereby to purge on burned gases from the combustion chamber and heat exchanger.

Abstract: A high frequency system for gas discharge lamps includes a method of, and apparatus for, controlling the operation of a plurality of gas discharge lamps and provides; a reduction in starting and operating voltage and current; an increased range of dimming; and improved efficiency and reliability.
Abstract: An accessory for paper supply feeders on standard printing presses of the class utilizing a paper supply pile height sensor to position a platform having a substantial stack of paper to be fed to a printing press includes an adjustable, variable force biasing means for alleviating the downward force of a reciprocating cyclically applied pile height sensor as the sensor is applied to the top of a stack of paper so that the supply at the top of the stack does not become distorted. This permits the printing press to operate with a greater paper supply capacity while eliminating misfeeds or other interruptions in operation, reduces the set-up time and allows the press to be operated for substantially longer periods of time without requiring an operator's attention.
Abstract: An illuminated fish net is comprised of a central, substantial body structure which receives and provides operative inter-engagement between a loop for receiving a net and a handle as well as interiorally disposed illuminating means including a light, batteries and a switch that is actuatable from the end of the handle.
