  • Patent number: 5012790
Abstract: A baseball practice mechanism defined by a tripod mounted framework supporting a baseball propelling arrangement and including a pivotal structure controlling a desired training need, as, for example, flyballs, batting practice, grounders, or the like. The tire speed is accomplish by use of an adjustment thread cooperatively engaging a pivotal plate which bears against the housing of a power source, serving, in end purposes, as a variable speed control for the rotation of the baseball propelling tire. Baseball feeding is accomplished through an entry opening into a V-shaped cup, providing safety to the user and, at the same time, the positive and repetitious squeezing, and propelling, of the baseball in a controlled direction through simple pivotal action. The mechanism is mobile through pulling movement of one or more of the tripod base legs combined with the rotating action afforded by the tire.

  • Patent number: 5011034
Abstract: An arrangement for concealing a garden hose defined by a receptacle receiving the garden hose and an overlying lid. The lid, when in combination, serves garden hose concealment purposes, but, additionally, may be independently used. In any event, the lid presents a central post having a handle arrangement on the upper end thereof and surrounded by a space of sufficient depth to receive, for example, decorative potted plants. When assembled, an attractive unit is presented largely showing the plants and only fully revealing the garden hose after uncovering for full access to the receptacle.

  • Patent number: 5010696
Abstract: A roof gutter attachment which overlies a roof gutter to prevent gutter and/or downspout clogging due to the undue or unwanted accumulation of debris. The arrangement presents a pattern of downwardly inclined parallel steps presenting grooves oriented in the path of liquid flow increasing liquid area expanse and the passage of smaller sized debris by reason of liquid adhesion. Linear ridges are defined between each of the grooves, such serving for ready sliding movement of larger sized debris over the gutter and into a receiving area therebelow. Air pressure differential creates a self-cleaning attachment when wind moves across the attachment.

  • Patent number: 4999758
Abstract: Lamp housing which, in one form, selectively receive different sized P.A.R. lamps and, in another form, selectively receive a P.A.R. lamp or an incandescent lamp. In either instance, the P.A.R. lamp is retained in position by spaced-apart flexible latches which engage a portion of the lamp lens. Additionally, and in order to provide ventilation space between the inside of the housing and the positioned P.A.R. lamp, spacer arrangements are provided. In both housing forms, ventilation openings are provided at various locations in the housing. As an added feature, each housing form, which includes a mounting bracket, is secured in an operative position by a support clamp. The latter is unique in configuration, being defined by a first and second portion at right angles with respect to each other and an arcuate third portion.

  • Patent number: 4977854
Abstract: A system for administering fish attractant to a lure at the tip of a fishing pole held by a fisherman through a nozzle outlet remote from the fisherman. The system includes a reservoir containing the fish attractant and a pump responsive to a switch controlled by the fisherman for transferring the fish attractant from the reservoir to the outlet. In a preferred embodiment the switch is a proximity switch responsive to movement of the fishing lure in front of the nozzle and the system includes a timing circuit for automatically returning the switch to its initial condition stopping the pump.

  • Patent number: 4969242
Abstract: A tied shoelace shield defined by two cooperating parts presenting a cavity for receiving the shoelace during tieing and, thereafter, a cover concealing the tied shoelace. The parts of the invention are reversible end-to-end, and foot-to-foot, and serve simplicity for assembly. The shield presents multi-purposes, including better shoelace tightening due to release of pressure from the top of the foot by the shield and, when covered after shoelace tieing, the positive location of the tied shoelace ends within the cavity so as to prevent tripping or the like.

  • Patent number: 4956617
Abstract: An arrangement for mechanically adjusting the oscillation frequency in a dielectric resonator oscillator which includes a base or support member, as a cover for the oscillator housing, involving two rotatable plates between which the aforesaid base is sandwiched. The base includes an opening extending therethrough, where a rotatable first plate overlies such opening on one side of the base, and a rotatable second plate overlies such opening on the opposite side of the base. The first rotatable plate includes an off-center opening adapted to receive a centrally disposed stem portion extending from the second rotatable plate, where a dielectric resonator is disposed off-center on the second rotatable plate and extends in an opposite direction to that of the stem portion. A fastening member encircles the stem portion and maintains the assembled rotatable first plate and rotatable second plate at a selected X and Y coordinate location.

  • Patent number: 4949817
Abstract: Am emergency braking arrangement for trucks characterized by the provision of selectively releasable brake pads typically mounted in front of the rear wheels of a truck trailer at a normal non-use condition and movable to a position beneath the truck wheels at a braking condition. The arrangement is particularly useful in controlling and/or braking the movement of a truck traveling on a downhill grade when the installed air brake system fails. The brake pads are selectively and individually controlled by the truck operator and, normally, each is restrained from unwanted movement by a plate which extends downwardly from the undersurface of the truck frame assembly. Each of the brake pads is reinforced to afford maximum durability.

  • Patent number: 4936577
Abstract: A basketball training and retrieving arrangement defined by an enlarged arch or ring mounted on a framework supported on a common basketball backboard and extending above and around an existing basketball goal. The invention plays importance in perfecting a player's ability, as from shooting at a three point line. Whether or not the basketball passes through the hoop of the goal, the basketball is introduced into a return which is selectively movable to the player's shooting location. The basketball return is rotatably mounted at a location below the basketball goal and includes a structural configuration which "kicks" the basketball into return movement along downwardly inclined rails.

  • Patent number: 4906004
Abstract: A random number selector whereby a series of pellets are moved from a collected condition to a series of peripherally arranged recesses. The selector basically includes a body overlaid by a spaced apart cover, where the latter presents, in the apex region thereof, a pellet receiving cavity representing a storage condition prior to any intended pellet distribution after passage to a distribution core. Distribution is readily accomplished by selector placement on a receiving surface, creating movement of the collected pellets upwardly, then in a downward direction along a portion of the body, and finally into one of a series of numbered recesses.

  • Patent number: 4884791
Abstract: A work support structure characterized by a leg supported spine which carries spaced apart laterally extending work support sections and, if desired, a work platform. The length of the spine and the length of the work support sections dictate the size of the overall work support area. The legs are vertically adjustable and accommodate variations or any unevenness in the support surface (flooring or terrain) on which the structure rests. A locking arrangement secures each of the work support sections at a preselected location.
