    Abstract: A boiler wall tube tool comprises a pair of opposed clamp members, each one of the clamp members having a nose intermediately disposed between a recess and a planar or inclined wall, and an aperture formed centrally through the clamp member. The clamp members oriented so that the recess of one of the clamp members is substantially aligned with the planar wall of the remaining clamp member for engaging a boiler wall tube therebetween. The aperture of one clamp member is substantially aligned with the aperture of the remaining clamp member. Means for moving the clamp members toward each other for secure clamping engagement of the tubes for maintaining the clamp members in alignment while connecting the ends of the tubes by welding is also provided.

    Abstract: An electronic article surveillance (EAS) apparatus is comprised of a carrier and an EAS unit. The carrier receives the EAS unit and has an adhesive element on one of its surfaces to attach to an item to be protected. The EAS unit may have several electronic components including, among others, an EAS coil, a microprocessor, communication elements, a switch, a battery, and an audible alarm generator. The EAS unit can be removed from a protected item by opening, or parting, the carrier. Once the carrier is opened the EAS unit can be retrieved for reuse. External devices can be used to communicate with and disarm the EAS unit. If an EAS unit is removed without being disarmed, a switch detects the change in status and an audible alarm is generated.

The segment of tape has a least one electrically conductive element running the length of the tape. The base rests on an object to be monitored, and the housing releasably latches onto the base, while each tape segment wraps around the object with each end of tape segment being fixed between the base and housing. Electronics within the housing complete a circuit through each tape segment and monitor the tape segments for electrical continuity. If electrical continuity is lost, either by cutting a tape segment, or unauthorized unlatching of the housing, an alarm can be sounded by the electronics within the housing. The electronic housing may be disarmed by a remote device and delatched from the base. Both base and tape segments may have adhesive elements.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for quickly and effectively drying ground surfaces are disclosed and claimed. The invention has particular utility in the drying of a race track surface. The invention consists of a means for blowing air upon the surface, a means for heating the air and a means for moving the apparatus with respect to the surface to provide flexibility and control in the degree of drying/heating performed. The apparatus and method may be applied to a variety of surfaces including earthen (dirt) surfaces, concrete and asphalt. One of the objectives of the device is to enable the drying of a track surface such that the surface will not be damaged by overheating which can otherwise occur with other track drying devices applied to an asphalt surface in particular. The design of the invention makes specific use of enhanced turbulent air flow at the surface in order to improve performance over a purely laminar air flow.

Reduced material thickness associated with the leaves produces hinges which allow the leaves to be more easily deformed outwardly. Inserting a bolt and anchor assembly into the hole and turning the bolt pulls the camming element into the sleeve and creates a wedging effect in the hole.

The housing and cover can move from an open position to a closed position to enclose the shaft or similar element. The housing has a first latch component and contains electronics including an arming switch on its top. When the housing and cover are moved to the closed position, the cover changes the status of the arming switch. The cover has a second latch element which combines with the first latch element on the housing to hold the housing and cover in the closed position. The anti-theft device may be armed or disarmed by a handheld remote. The latching elements may be releasably lockable and may be released by a magnet. The anti-theft device may have passcode protection capabilities.

At a specified time, each active tag possesses a changeable passcode. The base station further includes infrared communication capabilities with an infrared communication path between each tag and each base station, the path enabling interchange of information between each tag and each base station. Each tag replaces the passcode at a specified interval, or at a specified point in time.

The hollow handle can receive an independent light source and also houses a concave reflector. The hollow rod contains a plastic optical fiber which extends along the length of the hollow rod and extends into the hollow handle through the concave reflector. The hollow rod has at least some portions that are translucent. The plastic optical fiber is scuffed on its end where it protrudes through the concave reflector and also in sections within the hollow rod. An independent light source inserted into the hollow handle is directed toward the concave reflector and light is directed into the plastic optical fiber, transmitted to the hollow rod, and diffused out into the hollow rod and then outside. The plastic optical fiber also rattles when the rod is moved.

The lift platforms are attached to the garment toward the center of the garment. Connectors having one end attached to the lift platform and the other end attached to a slide on the shoulder strap adjust the lift of the lift platform when the slide is moved. Flexible shaping members distribute the lift of the lift platforms and maintain the natural shape of the breasts as they are lifted. Smoothing shields ease the movement of the lift platforms and connectors within the cloth confines of the breast cups. The flexible shaping members may also perform some of the functions of a smoothing shield.
