    Abstract: In magnetic resonance imaging machines the gradient coils which generate fast changing magnetic fields vibrate and generate considerable levels of sound. In this invention the vibration of the gradient coils is utilized to generate sounds to communicate with a patient in the machine. The sounds may originate from an operator via a microphone, or may be computer generated.
