Abstract: A walker and/or wheelchair distance measuring device comprising a wheel assembly, a measuring assembly and a display. The wheel assembly is capable of attachment to a walker, and includes a support and a wheel. The measuring assembly comprises a sensor having a trigger associated with one of the support and the wheel and a pickup associated with the other of the support and the wheel. The processor is electronically coupled with the sensor. The processor is capable of interpreting the information received from the sensor. The display is associated with the processor for displaying results computed from the processor.

Abstract: A hermetic package having a fitment having base coupled to a lid. The base is composed of a collar having a recessed groove, the base of the fitment defines an opening which provides access to the contents of the hermetic package. The lid is a planar structure having a first face and a second face. The lid includes a sealing member extending from the second face of the lid and engages the recessed groove on the base of the fitment to provide an airtight seal.

Abstract: An artificial bone comprising a substrate material and at least one of a suppression component and an x-ray component. The substrate material comprises a plurality of closed cells. The suppression component is impregnated into at least one of the plurality of closed cells. The x-ray component is dispersed within the substrate material. The invention further comprises a method of manufacturing same.

The respective amount Yb in the divalent state is such that any indirect and direct losses of Yb in the divalent state are exceeded by the gain attributable to Yb in the trivalent state. The at least one cladding extends about the core. The at least one buffer extends about the outermost of the at least one cladding.

Abstract: A mobile lifting device comprises a supporting carriage which is capable of travelling along a specific path and from which there is suspended, via a hoisting apparatus having at least two traction members a lifting platform which can be moved with a vertical component of direction in relation to the supporting carriage. In order to prevent uncontrolled lateral movements of the lifting platform, a stabilizing apparatus is provided which is formed by at least one essentially rigid pivoting member. The latter is swivellably connected, in one end region, to the supporting carriage and, in an opposed end region, to the lifting platform. In this way, a movement of the platform that possesses a vertical component of direction is always linked with a defined horizontal movement. If desired, this defined horizontal movement can be compensated for, wholly or partially, by a corresponding, oppositely directed translational movement of the supporting carriage.

Abstract: The portable tank defines a chamber within which is disposed a liner having a sealing interface with a tank discharge assembly. The features of the sealing interface of the liner with the discharge assembly and this discharge assembly itself virtually eliminate any risk that contents of the tank will seep or flow into the space outside of the liner and between the liner and the inner walls of the tank. The method of installing and using the liner system are also disclosed.
