Abstract: A multi-phase-locked loop (PLL) solution is described for multi-link multi-rate line cards. A reconfigurable enhanced phase-locked loop (EPLL) associated with a particular port in a line card is cascaded with an fast phase-locked loop (FPLL) and their combined output is used to provide a sampling clock to a data handler such as a serializer/deserializer (SERDES). The enhanced phase-locked loop (EPLL) is operable to take a multi-rate clock input and scale it accordingly to provide a fixed rate clock to the fast phase-locked loop (FPLL) input. The enhanced phase-locked loop (EPLL) can be dynamically reconfigured without affecting operation of other ports in the line card. The fast phase-locked loop (FPLL) and serializer/deserializer (SERDES) sample link data at a fixed rate and pass the data down through the communication system.
Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer program products for utilizing a frequency channel determined to be unacceptably noisy by finding a cleaner, narrower bandwidth within the frequency channel. Initially data is received on a frequency channel at a CMTS, specifically an upstream receiver, and by a narrow bandwidth detector, connected to a processor also used by components in the CMTS. The narrow bandwidth detector performs a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) on the frequency channel thereby creating multiple FFT points within the frequency channel. A clean bandwidth for transmitting data within the frequency channel is identified where the clean bandwidth is derived from a subset of FFT points from the full set of FFT points. The subset of FFT points are contiguous points that have a noise level below a predetermined noise threshold.

Abstract: A programmable controller includes a CPU unit, a communication unit and peripheral units connected together through an internal bus. The communication unit has a bus master function, including a cache memory for recording IO data stored in the memory of an input-output unit. When a message is received, it is judged whether the IO data stored in the memory of the input-output unit specified by this message is updated or not. If the data are not updated, a response is created based on the IO data stored in the IO data stored in the cache memory. If the data are updated, the input-output unit is accessed and updated IO data are obtained and a response is created based on the obtained IO data.
Abstract: Methods and apparatus automate creation of code for system level simulations from hardware representations, specifically RTL representations. In one approach, individual RTL hardware modules are analyzed to generate code for corresponding system level modules. This is accomplished by taking a mapped netlist for a register transfer level (RTL) representation of the hardware module and converting it to what can be termed a “system level netlist.” This system level netlist contains “system level instances” corresponding to “hardware cells” of the mapped netlist. A mapped netlist includes hardware cells corresponding to programmed hardware units of a target hardware device. The method generates corresponding functional representations (code for system level simulation) from these hardware cells. This functional representation is referred to herein as a system level instance. System level instances are generated for each of the hardware cells in a given hardware module.

Abstract: An invention is disclosed that enables proxy Mobile IP registration to be performed in a secure manner. Various security mechanisms may be used independently, or in combination with one another, to authenticate the identity of a node during the registration process. First, an Access Point receiving a packet from a node verifies that the source MAC address identified in the packet is in the Access Point's client association table. In addition, as a second mechanism, the Access Point (or Foreign Agent) ensures that a one-to-one mapping exists for the source MAC address and source IP address identified in the packet. As a third mechanism, a binding is not modified in the mobility binding table maintained by the Home Agent unless there is a one-to-one mapping in the mobility binding table between the source MAC address and the source IP address.

The operating part includes a driver cam that rotates as it is pushed by the operating key and to activate the switch part and a plurality of lock cams configured to directly lock the driver cam in a normal condition when the operating key is pulled out of the operating part and to rotate as it is pushed by the operating key so as to release the driver cam from its locked condition. The key switch may further include lock cam holder for holding the lock cams in the normal condition when the operating key is pulled out.
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and apparatus for automatically installing and/or aligning antennas of wireless bridges in computer networks. In general terms, when a particular bridge is installed or aligned, an installation mode is triggered which automatically displays an indication of one or more signal strength levels of signals received into the particular bridge. In the automatic installation mode, the particular bridge automatically searches for a remote bridge with which it can associate. After a remote bridge is associated with the particular bridge, the signal strength received by the particular bridge from the found bridge is then displayed on one or more indicators, such as light emitting diodes. Thus, one can then adjust the antenna of the bridge until an optimum power level is achieved without using any specialized equipment, such as a voltmeter or laptop for interfacing with the bridge to obtain the signal strength indication.

Abstract: Digitally compressed video/audio bit streams, when transmitted over digital communication channels such as digital subscriber loop (DSL) access networks, ATM networks, satellite, or wireless digital transmission facilities, can be corrupted due to lack of sufficient channel bandwidth. This invention describes schemes to ensure lossless transmission of bit streams containing pre-compressed video signals within the communication channels. The schemes herein comprises a rate conversion system that converts the bit rate of a pre-compressed video bit stream from one bit rate to another, and that is integrated with a digital communication channel, and a means to convey the maximum channel transmission rate to the rate conversion system to allow satisfactory transmission of the bit stream from the input of the rate converter through the transmission facility.
Abstract: Disclosed is apparatus and methods for enabling an appliance to receive data being sent between any host of a host cluster to a specified storage device's logical unit (LUN) in a single stream or session. In one embodiment, a data virtual target is initially set up for a specified storage device LUN so that data written from a host to the specified storage device LUN is received by the DVT. An appliance then sends a session request to mirror data that is sent to the DVT (and specified storage device LUN) to a specified LUN of the appliance. The session request is not host specific. That is, data that is sent by any host to the DVT is mirrored to the same appliance LUN.

Abstract: A system is provided for cleaning wafers that includes specialized pressurization, process vessel, recirculation, chemical addition, depressurization, and recapture-recycle subsystems. A solvent delivery mechanism converts a liquid-state sub-critical solution to a supercritical cleaning solution and introduces it into a process vessel that contains a wafer or wafers. The supercritical cleaning solution is recirculated through the process vessel by a recirculation system. An additive delivery system introduces chemical additives to the supercritical cleaning solution via the solvent delivery mechanism, the process vessel, or the recirculation system. Addition of chemical additives to the sub-critical solution may also be performed. The recirculation system provides efficient mixing of chemical additives, efficient cleaning, and process uniformity. A depressurization system provides dilution and removal of cleaning solutions under supercritical conditions.
