Abstract: An apparatus for urging two members apart or together that includes a first clamp adapted to be received by a first piece, a second clamp adapted to be received by a second piece and a plurality of power screws coacting with the first clamp and the second clamp, whereby moving the power screws in a first direction causes the first clamp to move relative to the second clamp and the first piece to move relative to the second piece. The present invention is suited for separating muffler pipes.

Abstract: A ceramic arrowhead blade comprising a body with two linear edges directed toward each other, wherein the ceramic arrowhead blade includes at least one sharp linear edge, the body having a base between the two linear edges. The ceramic arrowhead blade can be made of any ceramic material, such as zirconia, tungsten carbide or alumina. In addition, the ceramic arrowhead blade can have a textured or dimpled surface and serrations along the linear edges. The ceramic arrowhead blade can be received by a shank which is attached to an arrow body to form an arrow. The ceramic arrowhead blade can be made by selecting a ceramic material and then molding the ceramic material into an arrowhead, wherein the arrowhead can molded with at least one sharp linear edge.

Abstract: A seal for a drain that includes a seal body having an annular portion and an integral disk portion. An outer sealing surface and inner sealing surface are defined on the annular portion. A handle extends from a first surface of the disk portion. The disk portion defines at least one scribe line adapted to facilitate removal of the disk portion from the annular portion when a pulling force is applied to the handle.

Abstract: A process for the esterification of a triglyceride. The process comprises forming a single phase solution of said triglyceride in an alcohol selected from methanol and ethanol, the ratio of alcohol to triglyceride being 15:1 to 35:1. The solution further comprises a co-solvent in an amount to effect formation the single phase and a base catalyst for the esterification reaction. After a period of time, ester is recovered from the solution. Esterification is rapid and proceeds essentially to completion. The esters may be used as biofuel or biodiesel.

Abstract: An automatic truck tank fill system that includes an arrangement to automatically shut off the flow of material to a truck tank. The arrangement includes break-away connections that minimize damage to the fill system in an event that the truck tank is moved with the fill system still connected to the truck tank.

Abstract: A pipe clamp arrangement that includes a body having a tab extending therefrom, a clamp for receiving pipe, and a threaded member having a first end attached to the clamp. The threaded member is threadably secured to the body and a second end of the threaded member is adapted to contact the tab. Rotation of the threaded member adjusts a longitudinal distance between the clamp and the body.

Abstract: A modular electrical connector back shell apparatus that provides wire strain relief when using pre-wired modules for electrical wiring applications. The apparatus includes a housing, a modular frame insertable into the housing, and a plurality of modular connectors insertable into the modular frame. The housing includes a plurality of wire-tie receiving orifices for fastening the wires in the pre-wired modular connectors to the housing via a wire-tie inserted through at least two wire-tie receiving orifices and fastened around at least one wire.

Abstract: A swivel type working vehicle having a turntable (3) with a rear hood (28) covering an engine (11) and a side hood (42) covering hydraulic equipment. The rear hood (28) includes a pivot device (30) disposed in an upper front end region thereof and having a pivot axis extending transversely of a vehicle body. The rear hood is pivotable by the pivot device between a closed position covering the engine and an open position exposing the engine. The side hood (42) includes a pivot mechanism (50) disposed in a lower front end region thereof and having a pivot axis extending transversely of the vehicle body. The side hood being pivotable by the pivot mechanism between a closed position covering the hydraulic equipment and an open position exposing the hydraulic equipment.

Abstract: A tractor change speed apparatus includes a manual change speed device having a combination of gear trains mounted on first and second parallel shafts and driving a change speed output shaft at various speeds. A backward and forward drive switching device is cooperable with the main change speed device for producing forward and backward drives in an equal number of speeds, wherein the forward drive is transmitted through the first shaft and the backward drive is transmitted through the second shaft. A group of gears for returning reverse drive to a forward drive transmission shaft is thereby omitted. Consequently, the backward and forward drive switching device and the entire change speed apparatus has a reduced longitudinal length.

Abstract: A clutch operating apparatus having a control valve for controlling pressure oil to connect and disconnect a clutch (7), a clutch pedal (8) supported to be pivotable, a bracket pivotable with the clutch pedal (15), an interlocking mechanism (9) including an interlocking member (24, 25; 51) for operatively interconnecting the bracket and the control valve to operate the control valve with a pivotal movement of the clutch pedal, and a coupling mechanism (100) for coupling the bracket and to one end of the interlocking member. The coupling mechanism (100) includes a connecting pin disposed on one of the bracket and the interlocking member (28), and receiving bores formed in the other of the bracket and the interlocking member (29, 31) for receiving said connecting pin. The receiving bores are in form of slots shaped such that the clutch pedal has a lost motion only in an initial pivotal displacement thereof not to transmit the pivotal displacement to the control valve.

Abstract: A rising stem plug valve has a valve body housing that receives a plug. A handle assembly is attached to the plug for rotational movement of the plug between operative positions. A control assembly is attached to the plug for unseating and seating of the plug within the valve body. The plug includes at least one plug portion having openings corresponding to an interior configuration. Ring cords substantially surround the openings in the plug to create a seal therearound. The plug may include upper and lower plug portions with an untapered portion located between them. An O-ring is located on the untapered portion of the plug to maintain separation between the upper and lower plug portions.

Abstract: A mowing machine includes a vehicle body (1), a mower unit (4) connected to and supported by the vehicle body and having flow generating members driven by power supplied thereto for generating grass carrier air flows, a grass catcher (6) disposed at a rear end of the vehicle body and defining an opening for receiving grass clippings, a grass transport duct (17) for guiding grass clippings transported by the carrier air flows to the grass catcher, and a moving mechanism (5) for moving the grass catcher between a collecting position for connecting the grass catcher to the grass transport duct and a discharge position for separating the grass catcher from the grass transport duct. A power cutoff mechanism (11, 100) is provided for stopping power supply to the mower unit in response to a movement caused by the moving mechanism of the grass catcher from the collecting position to the discharge position.
