Patent number: 5384368Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for producing water absorbent resin comprising a step of adding a high-molecular crosslinking agent which has at least 2 azetidinium salt groups in the molecule and has at least 1000 weight-average molecular weight to the water absorbent resin paticles having carboxylic groups and carboxylic acid salt groups and a step of efficiently crosslinking the vicinity of the surface of the water absorbent resin particles. In the process for producing water absorbent resin according to the present invention, the use of high-molecular crosslinking agent achieves less permeation of the crosslinking agent into the water absorbent resin particles and enables efficient crosslinking of the vicinity of the surface of the water absorbent resin particles. Consequently, the water absorbent resin having high water absorbency both under pressure-free state and under loading can be manufactured.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 1994Date of Patent: January 24, 1995Assignee: Sanyo Chemical Industries, Ltd.Inventors: Masashi Date, Takashi Sumiya, Hitoshi Takai

Patent number: 5368269Abstract: A brace plate for bracing concrete column forms includes a flexible base and an extension extending at an angle therefrom. The extension has a slot for receiving a tightening strap and holes to receive fasteners for fastening the brace plate to a brace. In use, a plurality of brace plates are disposed around the circumference of a column form so that the bases conform to the outer surface of the column form. The tightening strap is inserted through each of the brace plates and drawn snugly around the column form. Each brace plate is fastened to its corresponding brace in such a way as to allow relative movement between the brace plate and the brace. Once the braces are secured and the column form is aligned, each brace plate is further fastened to each brace so as to prevent relative movement between each brace plate and its corresponding brace.Type: GrantFiled: July 14, 1992Date of Patent: November 29, 1994Assignee: Alpha Forming Systems, Division of Elco Concrete Co, IncInventor: Leon H. Patent number: 5138961Abstract: In a thread supply device used in a sewing apparatus having a plurality of needles and a looper mechanism, needle threads guided to the needles and a looper thread guided to the looper are cut by a thread cutting unit at a cutting position, which is off a thread supply path, after a sewing operation is finished but before the following sewing operation starts. The thread supply device comprises a supply mechanism, a stopping mechanism, a memory and a control unit. The supply mechanism forcibly supplies the needle threads and the looper thread. The stopping mechanism stops the threads from being supplied. The memory stores an extra length of each thread, which is required for a cutting operation. The control unit reads out the extra length from the memory and controls the supply mechanism and the stopping mechanism so that each thread is supplied in the extra length.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 1991Date of Patent: August 18, 1992Assignee: Pegasus Sewing Machine Mfg., Co., Ltd.Inventors: Minoru Nakano, Takayuki Matsunami

Patent number: 5104162Abstract: There is disclosed a method and apparatus for aligning and assembling disk-shaped works having projections on outer peripheries thereof.A vessel-shaped work is positioned and a plurality of disk-shaped works in a stacked condition are guided to a position on the opening edge of the vessel-shaped work by the work guide means, and then the pin provided for up and down movement on the rotary head is either inserted between adjacent ones of the projections of the disk-shaped works or contacted with and stopped by an upper face of one of the projections of the disk-shaped works. Also when the pin is stopped by the upper face of the one projection, as the rotary head is rotated, the pin is moved in the circumferential direction of the disk-shaped works so that it is disengaged from the upper face of the one projection and then engaged with an adjacent one of the projections of the disk-shaped work. Thus, the disk-shaped works are finally rotated in an integral relationship by the pin.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 1989Date of Patent: April 14, 1992Assignee: Shin Caterpillar Mitsubishi Ltd.Inventor: Tohru Watanabe
