Abstract: In a multiple phase system for supplying power from an AC source to nonlinear loads, a device for substantially eliminating currents in a neutral wire. The device includes a completely-passive parallel resonant circuit having three passive electrical branches connected in parallel tuned to a third harmonic frequency of the AC source. The three branches comprise a first branch consisting of a capacitor, a second branch consisting of a reactor, and a third branch consisting of a resistor. The resonant circuit is connected to the neutral wire.
Abstract: The present invention pertains to the field of piston machines, mainly those that include a mechanism without any connecting rod for converting the reciprocating movement of the pistons into a rotating movement of the output shaft. This invention essentially relates to a piston machine that includes a mechanism without any connecting rod and that comprises the following members: a body (1) with a plurality of cylinders (2); a plurality of pistons (5) with piston rods (6); sliding members (13) formed on the rods (6); a plurality of guides for the sliding members (13), each connected to the body (1) and capable of displacing the corresponding sliding member (13) along the axis of the corresponding cylinder (2); two coaxial cranked shafts (7) mounted in the body (1); and a crankshaft (10) mounted between the cranked shafts (7) and having its main journals (11) connected to said cranked shafts (7) while the rod journals (12) are connected to the corresponding piston rods (6).
Abstract: A method of using microwave-induced dielectric polarization to enhance the diffusivity of a liquid or a supercritical fluid mobile phase in chromatography, while having essentially no effect on other physical properties of the mobile phase.
Abstract: A method for determining illness, progression to death, and timing of death of a biological entity, in which whole body measurements of electrical impedance and composition of the biological entity are taken and recorded at predetermined intervals of time for providing initially measured values and serially measured values, and then the initially measured values are compared to normal values and to the serially measured values to determine hallmarks or characteristics of illness, progression to death and timing to death of the biological entity.
Abstract: Indoor/outdoor casual furniture are made from solid-state components all fabricated from a single sheet of polymer material. The furniture can be safely placed outdoors without risk of rot, mildew, or weathering. The method allows for interchangeable bench and chair backs.
Abstract: A paper binding fastener having two members which are secured together with ratchet-like catch teeth and which can be released by a component carried on one of the fastener members. The invention preferably provides a male member and a female member each having catch members which are moveable radially so as to engage and disengage the catch members and with at least one of the male and female members carrying an axially displaceable member which when axially moved as manipulated by a user urges the catch members radially to release the catch members from engagement and thus permit separation of the male and female members.
Abstract: Disclosed is a cosmetic article having an improved dispensing structure, which compactly combines liquid cosmetic product with an applicator used for applying the liquid cosmetic product.
Abstract: Apparatus for removing excessive heat which has built up in a garage, including vents, movable louvers connected to each vent, exhaust fans, and a fan motor. The fan motor may be controlled by a manually-operated switch or a thermostat.
Abstract: A module of loudspeaker 1 for high-quality reproduction of music and voice has a direct radiating base electrodynamic driver (EDD) 2 transforming an electric signal to acoustic one at least in the middle-frequency part of the acoustic frequency range and an enclosure cabinet 3 of this driver 2, the cone 5 of which overlaps the mounting hole in the outside surface of this cabinet.

Abstract: A railroad bumping post with coupling mechanisms which form a box about each rail and permit wedging of the rail within the box to secure the bumping post to the rails.
Abstract: A device to carry and store several fully-rigged fishing poles and reels without tangling. A base is connected to an upper platform by a connecting rod. The base and upper platform have aligned means for securing the fishing poles in place. An adjustable strap allows for hands free transportation.
Abstract: An apparatus for determining the location of a wall outlet on wallboard prior to the wallboard being permanently secured includes a body portion that is releasably secured to the outlet box and a plurality of outwardly facing marking pins that form divots in the wallboard when it is temporarily placed in position over the outlet box. After forming the divots and removing the wallboard, the apparatus is then replaced in the divots to show the location of the outlet box on the wallboard from the position of the markings. The apparatus can be traced to show a cutting line for forming an opening in the wallboard to accommodate the outlet box.
Abstract: A cosmetic brush is provided to carry a cosmetic powder therein to, protect the brush from the contamination or the wear-down, and prevent the discharge of the powder while the brush is not in use. The cosmetic brush comprises a cylinder containing the cosmetic powder and having discharge holes on one end; a connect cap being coupled with the cylinder and guiding the discharge of the cosmetic powder through the discharge holes; a pressure pump being screw-coupled with the cylinder to make the cosmetic powder move into the brush by its pumping; a guide tube being coupled with the cylinder, the brush moving therein; a sliding tube having the brush inserted therein and being free to rotate with fitting into the guide tube; a discharge pipe being placed into the brush to uniformly supply the cosmetic powder; and a covering cap for detachably covering the sliding tube to protect the brush.
Abstract: A vacuum edge cleaning attachment tool which enables the user to walk upright while vacuum cleaning an edge between the floor an a wall. The tool has an angled suction port which is guided by two orthogonal surfaces while cleaning the intersection area between the floor and the wall.
Abstract: A self-adhesive strap to hold wires or other components permanently using a self-adhesive backed, flexible high strength carrier member as the main component of wire strap or harness. The strap has adhesive on the opposite side of the carrier member to facilitate bonding to a substrate, such as a wall. The strap replaces mechanically retained wire clips as straps. To apply the self-adhesive wire strap, first the back liner is removed and the adhesive is attached to the substrate; then the larger piece of liner is removed using the extended tab and the wire is placed against adhesive; and finally the strap is folded against itself and pushed together, adhesive to adhesive.
Abstract: A method and system for use in treating a patient receiving any drug to optimize therapy and to prevent an adverse drug response. This system employs surrogate markers or indicators, including blood levels of drug, to determine the next required dose for a patient. Before surrogate markers are employed as a percent change in status, virtually any indicator can be used. Surrogate markers could include any measure the effectiveness of a drug's action. Given the effectiveness of the drug's action, relative to the surrogate markers, a change in drug dose is calculated by the system. Conversely, by employing this system, one could determine the expected result of a drug dose change on the surrogate markers.
