Abstract: A semiconductor package and method of producing the same has a substrate having a resin layer with first and second surfaces. A plurality of electrically conductive patterns are formed on the resin layer. An aperture is also formed at the center of the substrate. A first semiconductor chip has first and second surfaces. The second surface of the first semiconductor chip has a plurality of input/output pads formed thereon. The first semiconductor chip is placed in the aperture of the substrate. A plurality of first conductive wires connect the input/output pads of the first semiconductor chip to the electrically conductive patterns formed on the second surface of the resin layer. A second semiconductor chip having first and second surfaces is coupled to the first semiconductor chip. The second surface of the second semiconductor chip has a plurality of input/output pads formed thereon.

Abstract: A multi-view mirror assembly for a vehicle dimensioned to allow a driver to view people, vehicles and other objects positioned lateral and downwardly vertical to a rear end of the vehicle is disclosed. The multi-view mirror assembly is mountable on either an exterior or an interior surface of the vehicle. Furthermore, the multi-view mirror is maneuverable so as to compensate for varying vehicle sizes and dimensions.

Abstract: A tongue jewelry clip and method for wearing the clip is provided. The tongue jewelry clip includes a substantially thin, narrow, and rigid strip of metal bent to include at least one U-shaped section for wrapping around at least one edge of the tongue. The U-shaped section may be at one or both ends of the strip or in the middle. One or more tongue ornaments may be removably mounted to a first wall of the clip and a fastening assembly through the second wall of the clip member fastens the clip member onto the tongue. The one or more tongue ornaments may be non-pierced or pierced.

Abstract: A vehicle maintenance device for acoustical and vibration sensing of an engine has a flexible wand member having a channeling running the length of the flexible wand member. A housing is coupled to a first end of the flexible wand member. A handle section is coupled to a second end of the flexible wand member. The handle section has an internal cavity section. Sensing circuitry is positioned in the maintenance device and is used for performing acoustical and vibration sensing of an engine of the vehicle.

Abstract: A frame kit comprises a plurality of improved corner connectors and a plurality of rail members both having a plurality of holes, a plurality of fasteners for coupling each one of the corner connectors to one end of three rail members of the plurality of rail members and at least one set of instructions located in at least one container suitable for constructing at least one frame assembly. The frame kit may also comprise at least one of a plurality of leveling feet, a plurality of casters adapted for coupling to a portion of at least one of the corner connectors, a plurality of rib members for strengthening at least one frame assembly and a plurality of accessory members adapted to couple to at least one of the plurality of rail members. A method for assembling the frame kit and constructing at least one frame assembly is also disclosed.

Abstract: A die-attach method and assembly using film and epoxy bonds speeds manufacturing for large die assemblies while providing improved bond characteristics. An adhesive film defining an epoxy flow mask is attached to the die or substrate, epoxy is dispensed within the epoxy flow mask area and the die is then bonded to the substrate. The film controls the flow of the epoxy, preventing spillover. Additionally, the epoxy area can be made small with respect to the die size, reducing the time required to dispense the epoxy and reducing the amount of epoxy material required.

Abstract: A method and system for synchronizing location finding measurements in a wireless local area network (WLAN) provides a low cost mechanism for correcting location measurements within a WLAN location finding system. Multiple location receivers compute the time-of-arrival (TOA) of a reference transmitter signal, which is generally a beacon signal. The TOAs are collected and reported to a master unit that contains stored predetermined position information for the location receivers. The master unit computes the time-differences-of-arrival (TDOA) between multiple receivers and computes differences between the measured TDOAs and theoretical TDOAs computed in conformity with the predetermined position of each location receiver. The deviations between theoretical and measured TDOAs are collected in a statistical sample set and Kalman filters are used to produce a model of location receiver timebase offset and drift over multiple received beacon signals.

Abstract: A carrying apparatus and method for a wireless device. The apparatus has a first mating portion coupled to a wireless device case and a second mating portion coupled to a personal item, such as a belt. The first and second mating portions are coupled to each other by the positioning of a magnet proximate the surface of at least one—and preferably both—of the first and second mating portions. Bringing the first and second mating portions into sufficient proximity causes them to be coupled, and permits the use of the apparatus for carrying. When the wireless device needs to be removed for use, a pulling action will separate the first and second mating portions.

Abstract: Each of a plurality of masonry article comprises a contoured first header, a contoured second header, a contoured front face, a back face, a contoured lower base and an upper base. The plurality of masonry articles has a plurality of holes extending from the lower base to the upper base. The contoured first header couples to the contoured second header of another plurality of masonry articles and the contoured lower base couples to the upper base of the other plurality of masonry articles so that an outward face of a portion of a wall assembled with the plurality of masonry articles has a mortar-like vertically oriented gap and a mortar-like horizontally oriented gap. A plurality of corner masonry article and plurality of alternative corner masonry articles similar to the plurality of masonry articles permit assembly of a portion of a corner section of the wall.

Abstract: A wireless local area network (WLAN) radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag system provides location finding in a wireless local area network (WLAN), using a WLAN channel. Interference with the WLAN is prevented by either using a sniffer circuit to determine that no network transmission is in progress, using a modified coding sequence or preamble to cause standard WLAN receivers to ignore the RFID tag transmissions, or transmitting a message using a standard WLAN signal addressed to an address not corresponding to a unit within the WLAN. Location units (LUs) and a master unit (MU) within the WLAN receive the RFID tag transmissions and can determine the location of a tag by triangulation based on differences between the signals received at the location units from the tag. The master unit receives the signal information from the location units and computes the location of the tag. Time-difference-of-Arrival (TDOA), received signal strength indication (RSSI) or other triangulation techniques may be used.

Abstract: A metal connecting corner used in assembling a rack frame comprises three leg portions with each one of the leg portions of the connecting corner having three inner slots, each slot accepting a metal rail having a plurality of holes. Each slot is supported by a double-sided overlapping tapered reinforcing rib. The connecting corner further comprises a rail stop embossment which prevents each one of the rails in each one of the slots from making contact with another rail in another slot of the connecting corner. The connecting corner further comprises a corner base having four holes and a supplemental threaded hole. Each leg portion of each connecting corner has four holes which match up, and align, with the holes at each end of each of the metal rails, and a plurality of fasteners are used to secure each end of each rail in the connecting corner.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for enhancing security in a wireless network using distance measurement techniques provides an additional layer of security and privacy in wireless communications. A distance measurement or location-finding is performed between two devices by transmitting and receiving one or more signals and computing a distance between the two devices or a location of a connecting device. The resulting computed distance or location is used to determine whether or not to permit pairing, secure connection or secure transactions between the two devices. The computed distance or location can be further used in combination with a signal strength measurement to link to locate and measure nearby devices first, reducing the time required to initialize network communications.

From a predetermined number of cards, a dealer is assigned an initial hand having a greater poker value than an initial hand assigned to a player. Abstract: A switching power converter and method of controlling an output voltage thereof using predictive sensing of magnetic flux provides a low-cost switching power converter via primary-side control using a primary-side winding. An integrator generates a voltage that represents flux within a magnetic element by integrating a primary-side winding voltage. A detection circuit detects the end of a half-cycle of post-conduction resonance that occurs in the power magnetic element subsequent to zero energy level in the power magnetic element. The integrator voltage is stored at the end of the half-cycle and is used to determine a sampling point prior to or equal to the start of post-conduction resonance in a subsequent switching cycle of the power converter. The primary-side winding voltage is then sampled at the sampling point, providing an indication of the output voltage of the power converter by which the output voltage of the converter can be controlled.

Abstract: A method and system for managing distributed arbitration for multi-cycle data transfer requests provides improved performance in a processing system. A multi-cycle request indicator is provided to a slice arbiter and if a multi-cycle request is present, only one slice is granted its associated bus. The method further blocks any requests from other requesting slices having a lower latency than the first slice until the latency difference between the other requesting slices and the longest latency slice added to a predetermined cycle counter value has expired. The method also blocks further requests from the first slice until the predetermined cycle counter value has elapsed and blocks requests from slices having a higher latency than the first slice until the predetermined cycle counter value less the difference in latencies for the first slice and for the higher latency slice has elapsed.
