  • Patent number: 7165500
Abstract: A looper for use in a tufting machine includes a hook throat portion having a bottom edge. Corrugations are formed along the bottom edge. The corrugations provide suitable resistance to loop piles hooked by the hook throat portion, thereby preventing the loop piles from being held in an unexpected position of the hook throat portion. This makes it possible to form loop piles of uniform lengths on carpets. Also, the corrugations will prevent the loop piles from sliding away from a knife so that the loop piles can be reliably, precisely and cleanly cut at constant positions.

  • Patent number: 6270860
Abstract: A push button switch covering member of a silicone rubber is imparted with excellent resistance against stain deposition and abrasive wearing by providing a protective overcoating layer of a urethane resin-based coating composition capable of being cured by forming urethane linkages between isocyanate groups of a polyisocyanate compound and hydroxy groups of a polyhydroxy compound. The coating procedure with the coating composition on the surface of a silicone rubber-made covering member is preceded by a plasma treatment so as to activate the surface resulting in an increased adhesive bonding strength between the silicone rubber body and the coating layer. The improvement is more remarkable when the plasma-activated surface is subjected to a priming treatment with a silane coupling agent and coating with the coating composition is undertaken as soon as possible or within 60 minutes after completion of the plasma treatment.

  • Patent number: 6104283
Abstract: The apparatus according to the present invention is provided with two or more output systems to which transducers are connected, a source output on/off control unit that turns on/off the output from a source based upon the output from a random signal generating unit and a frequency varying unit that causes changes in the frequency of an electrical signal provided to the transducers over time at a specific rate. Every time the source output is turned off, the output of the electrical signal is stopped and the output systems are switched over, whereas when the source output is on, the electrical signal provided to the transducers on the output system to which the signal is to be provided. Since the output systems are switched over to be selected for use, it becomes possible to connect a greater number of transducers while using the same source capacity as in the prior art and noise generated from the transducers, when switching over the output systems, is eliminated.

  • Patent number: 5961931
Abstract: A particulate trap for use with a diesel engine is high in particulate trapping capacity and regenerating capacity and low in pressure drop, and yet is compact and inexpensive. This trap has a filter element made up of a plurality of tapered filter members formed from a fabric of heat-resistant metal fibers. The filter members have different diameters from each other and are nested concentrically one inside the other so that the adjacent filter members are positioned inversely. Each filter member is connected at its large-diameter end to the small-diameter end of the immediately outer filter member to alternately close the exhaust inlet and outlet ends of the gaps between the adjacent filter members. The filter element thus formed is mounted in a metal case provided in an exhaust line and used as a particulate trap. With this arrangement, it is possible to increase the particulate trapping area of the filter and the exhaust inlet openings without increasing the size of the entire trap.
