Abstract: Disclosed is a novel concept of infrared blocking powder, that is to say, indium antimony tin oxide (IATO), which is produced by mixing indium (In), antimony (Sb), and tin (Sn) in a predetermined mixing ratio, and co-precipitating a mixture in solvent. Additionally, the present invention provides infrared blocking solution and infrared blocking material using the infrared blocking powder, which allow visible rays to transmit therethrough but effectively block near-infrared rays acting as thermic rays.

Abstract: A pipe joint for connecting a rigid pipe with a retaining flange to a tube includes a pipe joint body formed with a through bore and a window in communication with the bore. A tube connector portion may be connected at an angle to a rigid pipe connector portion. A pipe retainer provided with locking pieces can be located in two positions relative to the pipe joint body. The first position allows the retaining flange to pass through the locking pieces. The second position retains the rear of the retaining flange and prevents inadvertent removal of the rigid pipe. The retaining pieces engage the rear of the flange through the window communicating with the bore. The locking direction of the retainer can be altered relative to the tube connector portion to suit different applications and ease assembly.
Abstract: In a plasma processing method for supplying an electric power to a first electrode, making a first electrode have a ground potential, or making a first electrode have a floating potential while supplying gas to a plasma source arranged in a vicinity of an object to be processed at a pressure in a vicinity of an atmospheric pressure. The method includes processing a part of the object to be processed with a plasma in a state where an area of a surface of a potentially controlled second electrode, arranged in a position opposite to the plasma source via the object to be processed, is made superposed on the object to be processed smaller than an area of a surface of the plasma source superposed on the object to be processed.
Abstract: A spray nozzle, with which the position at which the spray fluid strikes a target does not change, includes an ejection port elongated from side to side, a flow path formed cylindrical between a supply port and the ejection port, the flow path having a taper section formed at the middle thereof to reduce the flow path cross-sectional area gradually toward the ejection port. The taper section has upper and lower apex ends at an end portion on the ejection port side that are offset with respect to each other in the direction of the axis of the flow path.
Abstract: Light emitted from a wide stripe semiconductor laser with increased output and efficiency is passed through a mode converter and a wavelength selecting filter, then fed back to the active layer of the semiconductor laser, which fixes the oscillation mode of the semiconductor laser to single mode, making lateral-mode control possible.
Abstract: A data processing apparatus has a first processing unit for processing an input data, a second processing unit responsive to the data processed by the first processing unit for executing a processing dependent on the data and producing a display data, and a display unit having a display drive unit and a display device for displaying the display data. The second processing unit is selectively inactivated and activated under control of the first processing unit to reduce power consumption in the second processing unit. The display drive unit is also selectively inactivated and activated under control of the first processing unit to reduce power consumption in the display unit.
Abstract: The present invention provides a polypeptide SE36 derived from the N-terminal domain (47 kd) of SERA (serine-repeat antigen) produced by malaria parasite, Plasonodium falciparum, at the erythrocyte stage, a process for purifying said polypeptide, and a malaria vaccine and diagnostic agent using as an active component said purified antigen obtained therefrom. SE36 can be produced in Escherichia coli on a large scale by deleting all or part of polymerized serines of the 47 kd serine-repeat region, whereby high purification is permitted. The human IgG3 antibodies specifically binding to SE36 prevents highly effectively growth of the protozoa in the red blood cells to inhibit fever and cerebral malaria, and further prevent the death.

Abstract: A loudspeaker unit (2) of a loudspeaker system (1) is fitted to a cabinet (4). An absorbent (3) is disposed in a hollow chamber (R) inside the cabinet (4) and absorbs a gas inside the hollow chamber (R). A phase inverting mechanism (8) inverts the phase by resonating with a sound of a specific frequency radiated from the loudspeaker unit (2) into the hollow chamber (R) and radiates this sound to outside. The watertight means of the phase inverting mechanism (8) prevents invasion of moisture into inside the hollow chamber (R) from outside the cabinet (4) through the phase inverting mechanism (8).
Abstract: In a rotary encoder, a range of operable angle is divided into four large sections. A plurality of signal contact shoes come into contact with signal conductive portions in different combinations at individual positions within each of the large sections, and these states of contacting combinations repeat in each of the large sections. A plurality of common contact shoes correspond individually to four large sections, and each remains in contact with a common conductive portion continuously in the corresponding large section.

Abstract: The plasma display panel disclosed can perform a high brightness displaying and can realize a stable driving on a low drive voltage. The plasma display panel has front substrate (1) and rear substrate (2) positioned facing each other to form discharge spaces in between filled with discharge gas (14), wherein the discharge gas includes at least one of chosen from among helium (He), neon (Ne) and argon (Ar); xenon (Xe) and hydrogen (H2), in which Xe concentration is not lower than 5%.
Abstract: A method of recording data optically to an optical disk having a plurality of sectors, in which each sector has a region to be recorded with data, the data is recorded in units of blocks, and the block includes a predetermined number of sectors and is a data unit including error correction codes. In recording data related to a content by dividing and recording the data in a plurality of sectors continuously, dummy data to be used for extracting a clock in phase lock loop (PLL) for data reproduction is recorded on a region adjacent before a sector from which data recording is started. The data related to the contents is recorded on sectors following the region recorded with the dummy data.
Abstract: Fly ash containing unburned carbon of at least 10 wt % is pelletized using water as a binder without substantial addition of an inorganic binder, into unsintered particles each having an average diameter of 2 mm to 30 mm. The unsintered particles pelletized are sintered at a temperature which allows the landscape pebble to have a compression strength of at least 50 N and a water absorption rate of at least 40 wt %.
Abstract: In an effective display area, an additional information recognizing part 203 recognizes a standard of a broadcast wave, refers to a ROM 212 and selects a target value, and provides an internal clock of a video data reading part 205 and an internal clock of an OSD data reading part 206 with the target value. At a retrace internal, on the other hand, the additional information recognizing part 203 notifies an additional information synthetic position deciding part 210 of the standard of the broadcast wave. The additional information synthetic position deciding part 210 selects from a ROM 211 a target value for reading the additional information applicable to the notified standard, and outputs the target value to an additional information reading parts 207. When the standard of the broadcast wave is changed, target values corresponding to the changes are responsively selected from the ROM 212 and the ROM 211.
