  • Patent number: 4272678
Abstract: In a gamma camera, to improve resolution, primary scintillations resulting from absorption of gamma ray photons in a scintillator crystal are intercepted by the input face of a channel amplifier plate in which the primary scintillations excite a photocathode to emit electrons which are multiplied in the respective channels and reconverted to secondary scintillations in a phosphorescent output screen from which the brighter secondary scintillations are coupled to an array of photodetectors which produce signals that are used to determine the x and y coordinates of the scintillations. The secondary scintillation positions correspond with the primary scintillations in the crystal because the channels keep them aligned.

  • Patent number: 4267669
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method and apparatus for clamping and grinding cutting blades having an arcuate shank portion. The cutting blades are held in clamps having one fixed and one movable jaw, with the fixed jaw having a curved surface which interfits with the arcuate shank portion and fulcrums the blade about the oppositely located movable jaw to hold the blade against a rest. The jaws are mounted on a rotary work table.

  • Patent number: 4262953
Abstract: An airfoil or deflector panel for being mounted ahead of the rearmost set of wheels of a vehicle such as a truck or tractor-drawn trailer to direct air flow in a manner which reduces the relatively negative air pressure normally occurring behind a moving vehicle. The surface of the deflector which is presented in the direction of vehicle motion has a bilateral or compound convex curve.

  • Patent number: 4256467
Abstract: A flexible abrasive member is formed by applying a layer of metal (13;15,16) to mesh material (12). Abrasive material (14) is embedded in the metal layer during the deposition of the layer by an electrodeposition process. The mesh material may be electrically non-conducting woven material and the metal layer is deposited through the mesh material. In making the member the mesh material is laid on a smooth, preferably curvilinear, surface (10) formed with areas (11) for receiving the metal layer. Abrasive material is introduced onto the surface at the beginning of the metal deposition process or towards the end of the deposition process.

  • Patent number: 4251966
Abstract: A shutter comprised of laterally spaced apart extruded plastic side frame members or rails having a track on their respective rear sides which extends over the length of the member. Panels, such as louvre panels, have runners which slide on the tracks in interlocking fashion to form a shutter assembly. The shutters are adjustable to any desired window or door height by cutting off parts of the runners of the louvre panels so as to eliminate one or more louvre slats and also cutting off an equal length from the frame members. The upper and lower end panels are secured with pins which pass through the frame members so the panels cannot slide from the tracks.
