Abstract: A grommet member for use with a sports racquet comprises a grommet strip from which a plurality of hollow grommet pegs project for receiving racquet strings. The strip additionally includes at least grommet having at least two holes for receiving a pair of strings. Preferably, such grommet is either a multi-hole grommet or a triple hole grommet. The holes of the multi-hole grommet may be disposed on opposite sides of the grommet strip axis or alternately along the axis. In one embodiment, the multi-hole grommet includes a notch extending from its distal end partially towards said grommet strip to divide the end of the grommet into a pair of separate barrels, each barrel containing one of the two string holes Multi-hole grommets can be used to replace the shared grommet hole presently used on some sports racquets, in which the hole receives two racquet strings, i.e., either a cross-string and main string, or a main or cross-string and a tie-off string end.

Said slab (1) is supported on a base (11) arranged beneath the slab (1) with the weight of the slab (1) uniformly distributed thereover. A method for making said floor is also disclosed.

Abstract: A locking removable bill stacking cassette is disclosed. The cassette is used in conjunction with a plunger-type currency validator which introduces bills into the cassette housing where they are stacked. The cassette includes a slideplate which is used to cover the plunger or open end of the cassette housing before detaching the cassette from the validator. Within the cassette are movable rails which provide a path for the slideplate and also move when the slideplate is inserted to provide an offset between the slideplate and the bill stack.

Abstract: The invention relates to methods employing pH-buffered, redox-stabilized compositions comprising halide and oxyhalide ions. The compositions can be administered to food animals to effect enhanced food utilization, lower mortality, decreased nitrogen excretion, decreased dependence on antibiotics and vaccines, overall enhanced health and immunostimulation in the animals. Additionally, the compositions can be used to treat food animal carcasses to reduce foodborne pathogens and spoilage organisms.

The present invention also includes a novel graphical representation I/O scheme whereby test device configuration is accomplished through intuitive manipulation of an image of the test device. The present invention also includes embedded menuing features and a "one button down" user input section which facilitates ease of operation of the system. The present invention may be advantageously applied to a test device designed to extract and process telecommunications signals such as DS1, DS3, SONET, and ATM communication protocols.

Abstract: A hip joint prosthesis to be permanently anchored in a patient's hip is disclosed. The prosthesis comprises an attachment part for a ball unit designed to be anchored in the neck of a human femur. The attachment part comprises a primary fixture which may be an elongate anchoring element which is intended to be inserted into a channel extending through the femoral collum. The prosthesis also includes a secondary fixture for carrying a ball intended to be attached to the collum after removal of the head of the collum. The primary fixture and the secondary fixture are connected to each other. The prosthesis is preferably designed so that the length of the primary fixture terminates close to the head of the collum. The secondary fixture preferably comprises a plug-like part which is intended to be inserted in a cylindrical countersunk recess that is cut into the cancellous bone of the collum and which extends to the cortical bone in at least three locations.

Abstract: The invention relates to a surgical drill made of metal, for instance made of surgical grade stainless steel or carbon steel, intended for use when implanting cylindrical implants into bone tissue, preferably dental implants made of titanium. The body (3) of the drill (1) is coated by a thin layer of titanium nitride (TiN). The layer of titanium nitride is brightly colored and circumferential bands (8, 9, 10, 11) having a darker color have been etched around the envelope surface of the body (3) of the drill, said bands (8, 9, 10, 11) being located at predetermined distances from each other and having predetermined widths.

Abstract: Cells expressing Leukocyte Adhesion Molecule-1 (LAM-1) are identified by reaction with an anti-LAM1-3 monoclonal antibody produced by a hybridoma cell line made by the fusion of NS-1 myeloma cells with spleen cells obtained from mice immunized with a LAM-1 cDNA transfected cells. The identification methods are expected to be clinically useful in the diagnosis of disease such as AIDS, which are associated with cells expressing LAM-1 surface protein.

Abstract: A hybridoma cell line produced by the fusion of NS-1 myeloma cells with spleen cells obtained from mice immunized with Leukocyte Adhesion Molecule-1 (LAM-1) cDNA transfected cells. The cell line produces a monoclonal antibody reactive with human, monkey, cow, rabbit, sheep, dog, cat, pig and goat LAM-1. The monoclonal antibody produced by the cell line, anti-LAMl-3, may be clinically useful in blocking leukocyte entry into sites of inflammation or tissue injury.

Abstract: A process for producing a disaccharide which comprises: conducting the condensation reaction of .beta.-glucose-1-phosphate with a monosaccharide in an aqueous medium in the presence of an enzyme source which is derived from a microorganism belonging to the genus Catellatospora, Kineosporia, Propionibacterium, or Enterococcus and which has sugar phosphorylase activity; and recovering the disaccharide formed in the aqueous medium, as well as a novel disaccharide obtained by the process. The disaccharide obtained by the present invention is useful as a stabilizer for medicine, food, cosmetic and enzyme.

Abstract: Disclosed are novel, moist paper or fabric wipes containing a bacteriocin disinfectant formulation, which have a low alcohol content and which afford rapid, one-step disinfection and drying of surfaces.
