Patent number: 4304406Abstract: A golf training and practice apparatus has a television display and a plurality of sensors for sensing positions of a head of a golf club during the swing at a ball at a given location. A circuit responsive to the times of positioning of the head with respect to the sensors provides output signals to enable display on the television display of a graphic representation of the direction of the swing. The circuit also enables alphanumeric display of other parameters of the swing, and provides on the television display a fixed image of the angle of the face of the club at a time just before the ball reaches the ball position location. In order to also provide information relating to the golfer's stance, the apparatus includes sensors for indicating in alphanumeric characters the relative weight on each of the golfer's feet during various portions of the swing.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 1980Date of Patent: December 8, 1981Inventor: John I. Patent number: 4063959Abstract: A continuously operating centrifuge for producing a high purity sugar or sugar syrup, has an acceleration bell or cone which acts as a preliminary separator, and a centrifugal basket, the lower portion of which acts as a washing stage. A damming ring is spaced from the upper edge of the basket to form with said upper edge a sugar exit gap. A discharge ring is arranged to cooperate with the damming ring. The discharge ring rotates with the basket, but about an axis extending at an angle relative to the rotational axis of the basket, whereby the actual sugar exit is confined to a predetermined zone along said sugar exit gap. A flow channel cooperates with said zone to receive the sugar without damage to the sugar crystals.Type: GrantFiled: August 18, 1976Date of Patent: December 20, 1977Assignee: Braunschweigische MaschinenbauanstaltInventors: Walter Dietzel, Siegfried Matusch, Volkmar Hentschel

Patent number: 4053839Abstract: A frequency multiplying system and method in which a time varying analog input signal is sampled and stored in a memory matrix at a predetermined rate. The signal thus stored is read out from the memory matrix at a different rate and reconstructed into a time varying analog signal. The storage rates and readout rates are controlled by a command signal generator including a master run-up generator run up at a first run-up rate and reset by the fundamental input frequency, the highest level at the output of the run-up generator being continually stored in a memory circuit. Slave run-up generators which cycle at frequencies corresponding to the storage and reading-out of the sampled information are reset upon coincidence of their levels with the level in the memory connected to the master run-up generator. The command signal generator may be in either digital or analog form employing either counters or integrators as run-up generators. The analog input signal may be processed by either digital or analog means.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 1973Date of Patent: October 11, 1977Inventor: George Knoedl, Jr.

Patent number: 4019378Abstract: This hydraulic chucking head, especially for testing machines wherein the test sample must be held without play in the direction of load application, includes at least two test sample holding pistons movable along a common axis toward each other and toward a central axis through the chucking head. These pistons are hollow inside and movable in respective cylinders in the housing with a certain initial play. The piston walls or jackets are elastically yielding when the pressure inside the piston is increased, whereby the test sample is held and simultaneously said play is removed since the piston walls are pressed against the respective cylinder bores. Preferably a non-metallic coating is provided between the piston walls and the cylinder bores which coating acts as a sealing and reduces friction.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 1976Date of Patent: April 26, 1977Assignee: Carl Schenck AGInventors: Guenter Keller, Friedrich Klinger, Andreas Pohl, Gerhard Schimanski, Guenter Zuber

Patent number: 3948008Abstract: The present prefabricated structural element is especially adapted for the formation of balconies or other cantilevered structures. To this end a floor slab section or main section is joined to a balcony or cantilevered section by reinforcing steel elements which are connected to or in both sections and which bridge a gap between the sections. The gap width between the sections is preferably narrower than the top width of a supporting member, such as a wall or header, so that the gap may be filled with poured-in-place concrete once the element is properly placed in the desired position on top of the header or other supporting structure.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 1974Date of Patent: April 6, 1976Inventor: Werner Goetz

Patent number: 3945088Abstract: The present spacer strips are used to form, for example, electrically heated mats, whereby the strips hold the elongated heating elements in a fixed position relative to each other. For this purpose the strips are provided with grooves into which the elements are inserted with a press-fit and preferably with an elastically yielding press-fit. The strips are further provided along the ends with coupling means for connecting several strips in series with each other. The present strips are formed by heating thermoplastic sheet material and stretching the sheet material over a grooving tool plate then the sheet is pressed or sucked into the grooves of the tool plate. After cooling and removal of the grooved sheet, the sheet is cut into strips whereby the cut extends substantially across the grooves.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 1974Date of Patent: March 23, 1976Assignee: Firma Wilhelm HauptInventors: Dieter Altmann, Eberhard Haupt

Patent number: 3938418Abstract: This circular saw blade has a center disk and circumferential teeth segments secured to the center disk, for example, by welding. The center disk has two rows of circumferentially spaced radially outwardly extending lands. The two rows of lands are preferably axially spaced from each other by a circumferential groove. The lands in each row are circumferentially spaced by gaps, whereby the lands in one row are angularly displaced relative to the lands in the other row so that the lands in one row face the gaps in the other row. The teeth segments are provided with the same type of lands and gaps, but facing radially inwardly, whereby the lands contacting each other on both sides of the disk may be electronically welded from one side of the disk. Worn out segments may be easily removed by a cutting or grinding tool having an outer diameter somewhat smaller than the distance from one outer wall of a gap to the outer wall of the next adjacent gap.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 1974Date of Patent: February 17, 1976Assignee: Gustav Wagner MaschinenfabrikInventor: Roderich Orendi
