Abstract: The device for inhalation of a powdery, pharmacologically active drug consists of a supply container (3) for the drug (4), a manually actuated metering unit for providing a portioned-off quantity of inhalation substance which is picked up by the air current drawn in during inhalation and is swirled, an air inlet channel (9), a swirl chamber (W), and a connection channel (8) between the swirl cheer (W) and the metering unit, as well as a mouthpiece channel issuing from the swirl chamber (W). The metering unit here consists of a metering drum (D) which has, in its interior (5), a supply container (3) for the drug. Furthermore, the air inlet channel (9) and the connection channel (8) are arranged in such a way that they run towards each other in a V-shape. During a metering procedure, a portioned-off quantity of drug for inhalation present in the shape of a dome is provided in each case at the apex of the two air channels (8) and (9) running towards each other in a V-shape.

Abstract: A process for the preparation of a 1-substituted-5(4H)-tetrazolinone of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is defined in the specificationn is 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4,which comprises reacting a 1-substituted-5(4H)-tetrazolinethione of the formula ##STR2## with an ethylene oxide of the formula ##STR3## wherein R.sup.2 represents hydrogen, methyl or ethyl,in the presence of a base and in the presence of water, an alcohol or a mixture thereof.
Abstract: Dyestuffs of the formula ##STR1## in which D is the radical of an aromatic or heterocyclic diazo component andZ is the radical of an aromatic or heterocyclic coupling component, are obtained in an ecologically advantageous manner by reacting an aromatic or heterocyclic diazo components of the formulaD--NH.sub.2and a coupling component of the formulaH--Z.sub.1with a nitrite, in the presence of CO.sub.2 at a pressure of 5-100 at. The process is suitable in particular for the preparation of concentrated dyestuff solutions, because expensive operations, such as, for example, pressure permeation and reverse osmosis, can be omitted.

Abstract: The tubular heater comprises numerous tubes, which are disposed in a combustion chamber and contain catalyst. A synthesis gas, which mainly comprises hydrogen, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide, is prepared in the tubes. There is a risk of a formation of carbides (metal dusting corrosion) on the outside surface of the outlet ends of the tubes. To prevent such corrosion, a gaseous or vaporous protecting fluid, which is substantially free of CO, is supplied to the region surrounding the outlet ends of the tubes.

Abstract: Reactors are described for the continuous reaction of gaseous substances on fixed bed catalysts with continuous temperature control and with the aid of a heat transport medium. These reactors are characterised by the design of the catalyst bed in the form of one or more regularly shaped sheet-like layers having a thickness of 0.01-50 cm, the surface of the catalyst layers being covered by a gas-permeable layer and this surface, on the starting material intake side and/or on the product outlet side, facing a likewise regularly shaped wall at a distance of 0.1 to 10 cm, which wall separates the space for the substances to be reacted or reacted substances from the space for the heat transport medium. The reactors are further characterised by the substances to be reacted being directed so as to flow through the catalyst bed approximately or completely perpendicularly to the sheet-like catalyst layers.
