Abstract: A terminal block, by means of which a multi-core cable is connected to several drop wires, may be repaired by positioning an adapter over its binding posts. The adapter has an aperture into which a non-stripped, non-split, multi-core drop wire can be inserted such that one core of the drop wire is adjacent one binding post. Caps are then screwed onto the binding posts to make contact with respective cores, prebinding posts to make contact with respective cores, preferably by cutting through insulation of the drop wire. The adapter may be adjustable to suit different sizes of terminal block.
Abstract: The invention comprises a telecommunications terminal block with integral but separate test port captured cap feature as well as a method of manufacturing same in an automated fashion. The block permits the electric connection of various size gauges of wires without the severing of the smallest gauges of wire or ruining the block when initially contacting on the largest gauge wire.

Abstract: The invention provides for a modularized terminal block and an improved method of manufacturing the modular block. The block permits the connection of a plurality of drop wires or other devices in a reversible manner through the use of a standardized plug in module configuration. The module can be optimized for a given drop wire range which then uniformly uniformly connects to the base block through a standardized demateable contact.

Abstract: An insulator member comprises a porcelain insulator head and a polymeric shed secured to the insulator head. The insulator member can be used, for example, in an improved electrical line insulator which comprises a) an insulator unit comprising a porcelain head, and a polymeric shed secured to the porcelain head; b) a metal cap and a metal pin each situated at a surface of the insulator unit opposite to the other, the porcelain head forming a recess to receive the pin; c) cement mechanically securing the cap to the insulator unit; and d) cement within the recess and about the pin mechanically securing the pin within the recess. Methods of manufacture are also disclosed.
Abstract: A telecommunications terminal (10) includes a series of teeth (14) opposite a juxtaposable surface (25). The region between the teeth (14) and surface (25) has a progressive taper such that a wire (22) captured therebetween is progressively engaged thereby.
Abstract: A cable connector clamping connector comprises a plastics housing consisting of at least two elements having integrated therein a contact blade for contacting the ends of cable conductors which have been pushed into the housing. After inserting the cable conductors, the housing halves can be pushed together to lock, applying to the cable conductors the force necessary to press them into the contact blades for contacting. In order to make it possible for the user to check the depth of insertion in order to be certain that contacting is guaranteed in every case and with which, at the same time, a catch effect with respect to the outlet direction of the conductors is achieved, a resistance element, in the form of a plastics tongue, for tangibly signalling the depth of insertion of the cable conductor into the housing is provided in the effective insertion channel of each cable conductor, behind the contact blade in the direction of insertion.

Abstract: A re-enterable butt cable splice closure comprising a base and domed cover. The base has various parts that hinge together around cables, and has a gel sealing material defining cable entry ports which gel is put under compression when the parts of the bases are brought together. The base is supported on a support that has guides that align the cables with the ports.

Abstract: An extremely versatile heavy duty exercise bench (10) integrates the functional features necessary for body development through weight lifting, by providing a manually operable, double adjustable, reversible, tiltable, and sliding seat configuration (15, 20). The seat mounting means (15) includes upwardly facing rails (32) which face complementary flanges (33) on a flange assembly (34) on the bottom of the seat (20). The flanges (33) ride upon the rails (32) and guide longitudinal movement of the seat (20), while leaving the seat (20) free to be lifted manually and reversed. A manually operable clamp (60) secures the seat (20) in position on the mounting means (15) when the seat (20) is in use. Hinges (36,37) and telescoping tubes (41,42) provide for independent adjustment of the tilting of the seat portions (21,22).
