Abstract: Nor-seco-type cucurbit[n]uril compounds and methylene bridged glycoluril oligomers are produced by reacting glycoluril and formaldehyde in strong organic or mineral acid at a temperature adequate to condense the reactants. These compounds are characterized by lacking —CH2— groups rendering their internal cavities more open and, for example, more responsive to guest compounds.
Abstract: A porous conducting metal oxide electrode prepared by depositing a porous conducting metal oxide film containing a conducting metal oxide film layer having a network structure of nanofibers, containing nanograins or nanoparticles, on at least one surface of a current collector, and a conducting metal oxide coating layer on the network layer of the porous conducting metal oxide through a constant current method or a cyclic voltammetric method; and a high-speed charge/discharge and ultrahigh-capacity supercapacitor using the porous conducting metal oxide electrode are provided.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a compact base for a seat with a suspension for a vehicle driver, for use in buses, heavy vehicles or special use vehicles, including excavation vehicles or foresting equipment, in which the operator or driver is subject to vibrations. The present invention provides total independence of the suspension properties, including stiffness, damping and range of travel, with height adjustment. In order to accomplish this, the compact base for the seat is divided into parts including a suspension and a seat height adjustment mechanism. These parts have no common component including balloons, dampers or guiding systems. In this manner, the suspension properties of the seat are not affected by the seat height adjustment. Moreover, the invention provides a compact seat base through the use of structures and balloons that fit one within the other.
