    Abstract: This invention discloses methods and compounds for covalently linking nitro-, dinitro- and trinitrophenyl to DNA and the resulting nitro-, dinitro-, and trinitrophenyl labeled DNA reagents. Reagents for the in situ detection of a chromosome or a region of a chromosome are disclosed. These reagents include a multiplicity of DNA sequences that are complementary to different portions of the chromosome or chromosome region to be detected. Multiple nitro-, dinitro- or trinitrophenyl labels are covalently linked to the DNA sequences by means of an amino acid linking group. These labeled reagents are contacted under hybridizing conditions with the chromosome or chromosome region of interest. Any binding of the reagent with the chromosome or chromosome region of interest may then be detected by immunological techniques.

    Abstract: The invention comprises a method for the production of insulating styrenic foams comprising use of a blowing agent comprising a C.sub.4 -C.sub.5 alkane, CO.sub.2 and a halogenated ethane selected from the group consisting of 1,1,1-trifuluoroethane, 1-chloro-1, 1-difluoroethane and 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane and mixtures thereof, wherein the halogenated ethane amount is less than 70.0 wt. % of the total blowing agent weight. The invention further comprises the styrenic foams made using the blowing agent composition and a paraffin wax. The method of the invention advantageously eliminates ethylchloride from styrenic foam production methods while limiting use of the halogenated ethane to minimum amounts suitable to produce foams with good insulative properties.

    Abstract: This relates to drilling in water from a platform or vessel using a riser pipe. An inverted funnel skirt or cone is placed over slots cut in the wall of a riser pipe a short distance above its lower end. The apex end of the cone is welded to the riser pipe above the slots and drill cuttings pass through the slots and fall to the seafloor. Another embodiment includes an "L" shaped diverter flowline welded to the periphery of each hole in the riser pipe with one leg of the "L" extending a short distance below the hole.
