Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for dispensing liquid fertilizer to a forestry planting site of the type normally found in a commercial forestry operation. One or more liquid fertilizer accommodating tanks are mounted on a vehicle such as a plow, a planter or other mobile equipment used in the tree farming industry. Liquid fertilizer is dispensed at selected locations along the site. Typically, fertilization is performed contemporaneously with another task such as cultivating, tilling, subsoiling or planting.

Abstract: A support stand for a beach umbrella includes a generally planar platform having an opening formed therethrough. A clamp is carried by an upper surface of the platform. The clamp includes an opening that corresponds in size and shape to the opening in the platform. The clamp is opened to introduce an umbrella support member through the opening in the platform. The clamp is then closed to interengage the umbrella support member and fasten the umbrella to the stand. The platform is inserted beneath the sand and an umbrella is inserted through the platform and interengaged by the clamp to anchor the umbrella in place in the sand.

Abstract: A bedding plow suited for forestry planting operations includes a plow frame that is attached to a tractor or other tow vehicle. The frame holds a pair of trailing disk assemblies that are arranged along opposite longitudinal sides of the bed being plowed. A center-cut disk assembly is mounted pivotably to the frame between and forwardly of the trailing disk assemblies. A resilient biasing assembly such as a hydraulic or pneumatic relief mechanism interconnects an arm of the center-cut disk assembly and the frame. The resilient biasing device urges the center-cut disk assembly to engage the ground under normal circumstances and permits the disk assembly to retract upwardly and ride over obstructions that are encountered while the plow cultivates the bed.

Abstract: An edging and trimming apparatus for a lawn sprinkler head includes an elongate rotary shaft carrying an annular rotary blade at a lower end thereof. The opposite upper end of the shaft is releasably interconnected to a rotary auger motor. The motor drives the shaft axially and rotates the blade to perform edging and trimming of the grass surrounding a standard sprinkler head.

Abstract: A bendable medical, dental and surgical illuminating appliance is disclosed. The appliance includes a light-conducting rod, at least a portion of which is light projecting. The rod is flexible and comprises a self-sustaining shape. The rod also includes a light inlet that is operably engaged with the outlet of a fiberoptic conductor. The opposite, inlet end of the conductor is optically interengaged with a fiberoptic illuminator.

Abstract: A double-acting, weight distributing trailer hitch includes a drawbar assembly and a hitchhead assembly. The drawbar assembly is releasably connected to a tow vehicle and includes a first coupling component at its rearward end. The hitchhead assembly includes a second coupling component and a rearwardly extending drawbar extension, which are pivotably connected along substantially vertical axis by a yoke. The drawbar extension is pivotally connected to the yoke by a cam. The drawbar extension is also mounted pivotably to the hitch ball along a first horizontal axis that is transverse to the direction of travel. A rearward portion of the drawbar extension is pivotably interconnected to the trailer along a second horizontal axis, which is parallel to the first horizontal axis and located behind the hitch ball. This creates an overlap between the forward end of the trailer and the drawbar extension.

Abstract: A double-acting, reduced tongue weight trailer hitch includes a drawbar assembly and a hitchhead assembly. The drawbar assembly is releasably connected to the tow vehicle and includes a first coupling component at its rearward end. The hitchhead assembly includes a second coupling component and a drawbar extension pivotally connected to the second coupling component along a vertical axis. The drawbar extension is pivotally interconnected to the hitch ball along a first horizontal axis that is transverse to the direction of travel. A rearward portion of the drawbar extension is pivotally interconnected to the trailer along a second horizontal axis, which is parallel to the first horizontal axis and located behind the hitch ball. This creates an overlap between the forward end of the trailer and the drawbar extension. A spring assembly dampens upward and downward movement of the trailer relative to the drawbar extension.

Abstract: An artificial fishing lure includes multiple rows of resiliently flexible projections. The lure includes a head portion, a tail portion and a body portion that unitarily interconnects the head portion and the tail portion. The resiliently flexible projections are attached to and extend from the body portion. As the lure is pulled underneath the water or while contacting underwater objects, the projections vibrate to produce sound waves and modulated reflected and refracted light, which attract fish. Additionally, the vibrating projections trap air bubbles to further attract predatory fish.

Abstract: An improved shallow water fishing boat hull includes a generally S-shaped chine segment having a sloped intermediate portion that is intersected by the mean waterline. One or more generally Shaped strake elements may be formed along the hull adjacent to the chine segment. Due to the chine configuration, the bottom of the hull intersects the plane of the water at an increased angle so that unwanted and fish distracting hull noise is reduced. The chine segment and the strakes also form spray deflectors.

Abstract: A single motor, multiple cable boat lift is employed. The lift includes a platform and a pair of pilings disposed on each of the opposing sides of the platform. A first pair of cables innerconnect one side of the platform with the first pair of pilings and second pair of cables innerconnect the opposite side of the platform with the second pair of pilings. There is a single motor and a cable transmission apparatus that operably innerconnects the motor and all cables such that operation of the motor selectively retracts and extends the cables in a synchronized manner to raise and lower the lift platform.

Abstract: A wind-resistant room is constructed within a building without a cellar. The room includes a plurality of pre-cast concrete wall panels inflexibly secured to and extending outwardly from a concrete floor slab of the building. The wall panels are interior to and separate and distinct from the exterior walls of the building and are inflexibly connected to one another to surround an interior space within the building. A pre-cast concrete ceiling panel is inflexibly connected to an upper edge of each pre-cast wall panel interiorly of and separate and distinct from the roof of the building. The pre-cast wall panels and pre-cast ceiling panel define a wind-resistant enclosure within the building. At least one of the pre-cast wall panels includes a doorway and carries a wind-resistant door that is selectively extendable across the doorway.

Abstract: A baby stroller apparatus used in combination with a standard child's car seat. The car seat includes a transportable base having at least one transverse slot and a latching mechanism mounted retractably within the slot and releasably interengagable with a locking component in a standard fixed base mounted in a motor vehicle. The stroller includes a frame having a pair of elongate, generally parallel side sections and at least one pair of elongate, generally parallel crossbar members that transversely and rigidly interconnect the side sections. The crossbar members in each pair include an upper crossbar member that is interengaged by the transverse slot in the transportable base of the car seat and is releasably interengaged with the latching mechanism. A lower crossbar member is interengaged by the transportable base such that the baby's car seat is supported on and releasably locked to the frame.

Abstract: A test apparatus is used in combination with a fiberoptic scope, which scope includes an eyepiece, an elongate scope body connected to and generally optically aligned with the eyepiece and a plurality of generally optically aligned lenses disposed within the scope body and optically communicating with the eyepiece. The apparatus includes a holder that supports the scope such that the eyepiece of the scope is exposed by the holder. A focusing member is telescopically interengaged with the holder. An inspection eyepiece assembly is mounted within the focusing member and includes an magnifying lens that faces and optically communicates with the eyepiece of a scope supported by the holder. The focusing member and the holder are telescopically adjusted relative to one another to focus the inspection eyepiece assembly on a selected lens of the scope. As a result, an image of the selected lens is transmitted through the inspection eyepiece assembly and examined.

Abstract: A fiberoptically illuminated appliance is disclosed. The appliance includes a light source and an elongate fiberoptic cable, which is operably engaged to the light source and which conducts light from the light source therethrough. A translucent appliance is operated in a conventional manner to perform a primary predetermined function, which function is exclusive of lighting. The appliance includes a continuous light conducting pathway that is uninterrupted by air and a light-emitting surface formed on the periphery of the appliance and communicably connected to the light-conducting pathway. The cable and the appliance are communicably interengaged. Light is directed from the cable through the continuous light-conducting pathway to the light-emitting surface, from which surface light is projected to illuminate the primary predetermined function.

Abstract: A medical transilluminator device is disclosed. The device includes a fiberoptic cable that is interconnected at one end to a fiberoptic illuminator. The opposite end of the cable is interengaged to a transilluminating spacer component that transmits light toward tissue being examined. A light intensity adjusting mechanism may be interengaged between the fiberoptic cable and the spacer component.

Abstract: A weight distributing hitch apparatus includes a drawbar assembly, which is interconnected to a tow vehicle and includes an elongate bar and a component that is pivotally interconnected and angularly adjustable relative to the bar. A hitch head assembly includes a ball component attached to a ball coupler on the trailer. A drawbar extension is suspended from the ball component and a height adjustment channel is pivotally interconnected to the drawbar extension. A horn is slidably received by the channel. The horn and the angularly adjustable drawbar component are selectively coupled to interconnect the trailer to the tow vehicle. A dual action, pre-loaded spring interconnects the trailer and the drawbar extension to provide improved dampening and bounce control.

The spherical element and the target element carry complementary hook and loop components or magnetic components that enable the spherical element to releasably attach to the target element within a selected target area when the spherical element is projected at and strikes the target element within that target area.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided for electrically testing the standard light circuit of a trailer. The apparatus includes a battery and a flasher component electrically connected to a positive terminal of the battery. A switch is electrically connected to the flasher component. There is an indicator light associated with a respective trailer light. A positive conductor is interconnected between the switch and the indicator light. A ground conductor is interconnected between a negative terminal of the battery and the indicator light. A harness is releasably attached to the standard connector component of the trailer's light circuit. The harness electrically connects the positive conductor to the positive wire of the light circuit and likewise electrically connects the negative terminal of the battery to the ground wire of the trailer's light circuit. The switch is selectively opened to de-energize the positive conductor and closed to energize the positive conductor.
