  • Patent number: 5898568
Abstract: A heat dissipator accessory for a notebook computer, which is concealed in an expansion slot of a notebook computer to effectively dissipate heat generated by the computer, is disclosed. The external heat dissipator for a notebook computer comprises a cooling module inserted into an expansion slot of the notebook computer. The cooling module includes a flat body having a connector electrically connected with a signal socket disposed in the expansion slot of the notebook, a cover disposed on the flat body and an air duct attached on the cover and mounted to the flat body. The flat body defines therein a chamber for receiving a fan and an air passage in communication with the chamber. The air passage has an air deflector transversely mounted at an end thereof for changing the direction of horizontal air flow. The cover defines a hole aligning with the fan chamber of the flat body and forming thereon a beveled portion corresponding to the air deflector.

  • Patent number: 5855170
Abstract: An ink-replenishable signet comprises a body, a reciprocal shield movably receiving the body, a grip portion mounted on the reciprocal shield and a bottom cover mounted to a bottom of the body. The body includes a pedestal, two rectangular tubes extending integrally and upwardly from the pedestal and a post formed between the two rectangular tubes. The pedestal further has two stepped portions respectively formed at two sides thereof and an ink reservoir and a stamp block received therein. A stop is mounted to the two stepped portions of the pedestal for restricting the movement of the stamp block. The expansion has an enclosure extending integrally from a top face thereof. The top face of the reciprocal shield defines an aperture and two holes therein for the post and two rectangular tubes of the pedestal to be respectively extending therethrough and then is engaged with a clip member.

  • Patent number: 5829720
Abstract: A supporting device for a golf bag stand includes a supporting plate, a tubular receiver integrally formed with the supporting plate and a bottom plate having a concavity defined therein. The concavity is sized and configured to mate with the struting plate, such that the struting plate is able to be snugly received within the concave space. Furthermore, a first channel is defined within the struting plate and a second channel is defined within the bottom plate, such that when the supporting plate is received within the concavity of the bottom plate, a pin is able to pivotally combine the bottom plate and the supporting plate through the second channel and the first channel respectively, which provides the golf bag an ability to adjust to any terrain when the golf bag is held in a substantially upright position.

  • Patent number: 5815539
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for characterizing multipath-induced distortions in the autocorrelation function of a correlation receiver in order to reduce effects of these multipath-induced distortions on the accuracy of detecting the time of arrival of a received signal. The magnitude of the multipath-induced errors adversely affecting the shape of the autocorrelation function is estimated in real time, for example, through the use of secondary scanning correlators whose time base is independent of a typical receiver's detection-oriented correlators. This error is subtracted from the detection-oriented correlator's timing, thereby yielding a more accurate autocorrelation function.

  • Patent number: RE35920
Abstract: Apparatus that is carried on a land vehicle, a marine vehicle or vessel, or an airborne vehicle or vessel for notifying others that a vehicle accident or other abnormal situation has occurred and for notifying others of the location of the vehicle at the time of the accident. The vehicle carries an distance measuring system (DMS) signal antenna and receiver/processor that receives DMS-type signals from one or more DMS signal broadcasters and determines the present position of the vehicle, plus an activatable transmitter. The vehicle also carries an abnormality sensing means that senses the occurrence of an accident or other abnormal situation involving the vehicle or a vehicle occupant. When an abnormal situation is sensed, the abnormality sensing means automatically activates the transmitter, which then communicates the fact that an abnormal situation has occurred and the location of the vehicle at the time the event occurred.
