  • Patent number: 5018647
Abstract: Dispensing cap for pressurized containers having a slotted housing adapted to fit onto the bead formed between the valve closure and the top of a pressurized container, an actuator disposed within the slotted housing and hinged thereto, the actuator defining a product discharge path and adapted to sealingly communicate with the valved closure of the container, and a trigger member affixed to the actuator and hinged to the housing, the hinged actuator and trigger providing a single or multiple-actuator lever structure, respectively, for the delivery of product from the valved container.

  • Patent number: 4788082
Abstract: Described is a method for depositing from the vapor phase a chemical species into the form of a thin solid film material which overlays a substrate material. The deposition process consists of three steps: (1) synthesis of depositing species, (2) transport of said species from site of synthesis to a prepared substrate material, and (3) condensation and subsequent film growth. The transport step is achieved by admixing small concentrations of the depositing species into the flow of a high speed jet of an inert carrier gas. This jet impinges on the substrate's surface and thereby convects the depositing species to this surface where condensation occurs. Since the gas mixture is at fairly high pressure, the deposition is achieved in a simple flow apparatus rather than in the high vacuum systems required of other methods. Also this transport technique allows the chemical and/or physical phenomena utilized in the depositing species synthesis step to be isolated from the actual condensation reaction.

  • Patent number: 4710168
Abstract: A non-return valve for medical purposes, in particular for balloon catheters, has a hollow valve housing (3) which at one end has a connecting opening (8) for the insertion of a syringe nozzle and two abutments (16, 17) for a slide member (18). The slide member runs with its peripheral surface over at least one valve opening (15) at the cylindrical inside periphery (14) of the housing (3). The first abutment (16) is of such a slightly raised configuration that the slide member (18) can be inserted through the connecting opening (8), by making use of the elastic deformability of the valve housing (3) and/or the slide member. That makes it possible for the second abutment (17), at the end in opposite relationship to the connecting opening (8), to be already ready moulded in the manufacturing process.

  • Patent number: 4599126
Abstract: A method of severing laminates (10) of the type having a metal layer (11) and a synthetic plastics layer (12). The method comprises forming a channel section indentation (13) in the laminate (10) along a line (14) on which the laminate (10) is to be severed, the indentation (13) being of such depth as to extend through the full thickness of the plastics layer (12) and through a part of the thickness of the metal layer (11), such that the plastics material along the line of the indentation (13) is substantially displaced laterally, and severing the laminate (10) along the line (14) of the indentation (13) in the metal layer (11). An apparatus for carrying out the method is disclosed as is the application of the method and apparatus to the production of container tops.

  • Patent number: 4506805
Abstract: The spraying device for liquids comprises a piston pump which has a suction orifice intended to be immersed in the liquid and a piston rod slidably mounted opposite the suction orifice. This piston rod encloses an outward orifice for the liquid. The external case of the device comprises a delivery tube for mounting on the piston rod which carries laterally a nozzle for spraying the liquid, a trigger projecting outside the case for controlling depression of the rod of the piston pump and means for removably securing the case to the neck of the container. The case and the trigger are moulded as a single piece on a plastic material. The case has an opening which extends from the front face in which emerges the spraying nozzle to a rear face. The trigger is connected to the rear face of the case by means of a flexible tongue made from a plastic material which allows the trigger to be brought back from a moulding position where it is situated outside the case to a service position inside the case.
