Abstract: An animal warning device for emitting a sound that is loud and consistent enough to cause animals to avoid oncoming vehicles. The present invention accomplishes this objective by electrically connecting a speaker to a wind-powered generator. The wind-powered generator is driven by air current striking an impeller. The device is mounted onto a vehicle such that oncoming air current strikes the impeller causing the impeller to rotate. Rotation of the impeller causes the generator to produce a current which powers the speaker. As such, it is unnecessary to connect the animal warning device to an external power source, such as the vehicle's alternator or battery.
Abstract: An inventory control and prescription management and dispensing system including a dispensing vault for storing and dispensing prescriptions in communication with a central computer system which communicates with prescription providers, insurance companies and other third parties. The vault includes robotic means for dispensing pre-filled prescriptions with the aid of RFIDs, barcodes or other means for verifying the medication to be dispensed. The vault uses patient biometrics, a patient registration system, insurance information and doctor information to process the transaction and dispense a specifically labeled pre-filled prescription to the patient.
Abstract: A universal squaring jig which may be used when welding various workpieces in perpendicular orientation. The squaring jig has two workpiece holders attached together by one or more support members. Each holder has three mating surfaces. The first and second mating surfaces together form a perpendicular interior corner. The first and third mating surfaces form a perpendicular exterior corner. Magnets are placed on both the first and third mating surfaces to hold workpieces in mating contact with the surfaces of the squaring jig during welding.
Abstract: A control system and method for ensuring proper closure of a dual swing gate. The control system employs position sensors for monitoring the position of each gate arm. A “differential position” is maintained between the arms during closing to ensure proper sequencing. The control system regulates the speed of the master arm and the slave arm to ensure that the differential position is maintained throughout the closure process.
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to methods for treating the sequela of laminitis in hoofed animals. Benefits are obtained by administering to the animals to be treated injections of Botulinum Toxin in the limb to be treated. In one embodiment, about 100 Units to 600 Units of Type A Botulinum Toxin is injected in multiple injections into the flexor digitorum profundus muscle of an animal's affected limb.
Abstract: A crash worthy vehicle partition for securely separating the front of a vehicle from the rear of vehicle. The vehicle partition includes upper mounting brackets and lower mounting brackets that allow for limited, rearward motion of the vehicle parrition in the event of a rear-end collision to reduce the crash impact forces on front seat occupants. The vehicle partition further includes pivotable wings that are disposed on each side of the vehicle partition in a vehicle's side curtain airbag deployment zones. These pivota+e wings are mechanically retracted out of the side curtain airbag; deployment zones in the event of an airbag deployment event.
Abstract: An improved personal shelter canopy hub is formed using a number of spherical rotating joint elements captured in a hub body. The joint elements provide rotational movement of canopy frame elements to allow easy opening and collapsing of a canopy frame and cover. An improved canopy includes two hubs joined by a cross shaft. Each hub may be formed by molding in high-density plastic and combined with stub arms to facilitate subsequent assembly of a completed canopy.
Abstract: An improved umbrella includes a durable hub including a number of spherical rotating joint knuckles captured in a hub body. The joint knuckles provide rotational movement of rib and spreader elements which support a flexible umbrella cover. The joint knuckles provide increased bearing surface area that increases ease of use and durability. The hub design enables identical hub bodies to be used for a spreader hub and a rib hub.
Abstract: A beverage dispensing system provides for the secure, and aesthetically appealing, dispensing of beverages from beverage filled containers. The beverage dispensing system includes a housing adapted to receive a beverage filled container, a retractable stand for raising the rear of the housing to encourage complete dispensing of beverage, a labeling system to identify the contents of the beverage filled container, and aesthetically appealing ornamentation.
Abstract: A wheelchair transfer device which includes a seat intermediate between the wheelchair seat and the floor, a pair of seat supports suitable for attachment to the wheelchair and for supporting the seat, and hand supports integral to the frame whereby a wheelchair user, using only the user's own motive power, may easily self-transfer from the wheelchair to the intermediate seat and from the intermediate seat to the floor and vice versa.
