    Abstract: An LED light source (10) has a housing (12) with a base (14) and a hollow core (16) projecting from the base (14), the core (16) being substantially conical. A first printed circuit board (18) is fitted to the base (14). A second printed circuit board (20) is fitted to the narrow end (22) of the core (16), the second printed circuit board (20) having at least one LED (24) operatively fixed thereto. A plurality of electrical conductors 26 is provided having proximal ends (28) attached to and extending from the second printed circuit board (20) and distal ends (30) attached to and projecting through the first printed circuit board (18). A cap (32) is fitted over the second printed circuit board (20) and a heat sink (34) is attached to the base (14) and in contact with the distal ends (30) of the electrical conductors (26). The housing (12) is provided with flanges for engaging a suitable opening in the rear of a reflector.

A right angle electrical contact (26) has a longitudinal portion (28) and a transverse portion (30). The longitudinal portion (28) includes a first contact retainer (32). The transverse portion (30) includes a contact retainer (33). The longitudinal portion (28) is fitted into the longitudinal electrical contact-receiving chamber (24) of the first dielectric (18) with the contact retainer (32) on the longitudinal portion (28) engaging the interior wall of the longitudinal contact-receiving chamber (24).

    Abstract: A simple photoionization technique for enriching a particular isotope of mercury in a naturally-occurring mixture employing an isotopically pure radiation source separately optimized for 253.7 nm. and 404.7 nm. emission, respectively. A vessel is provided for containing the naturally occurring mercury. This vessel may be part of either a flow or closed system. The radiation source brings the isotope from the 6.sup.1 S.sub.0 ground state to the 6.sup.3 P.sub.1 state wherein the nitrogen gas deactivates the isotope to bring the isotope to the long-lived 6.sup.3 P.sub.0 state. Thereafter, the source optimized at 404.7 nm. brings the isotope to the 7.sup.3 S.sub.1 state. At this level the atom may be easily photoionized either by a laser or a powerful visible incoherent radiation source.
