  • Patent number: 5571586
Abstract: A pressure-sensitive adhesive closure system for a disposable diaper, or the like, in which a pressure-sensitive adhesive fastening tab releasably attaches to a non-blocking thin diaper backsheet which has been treated to raise the surface energy and pattern printed, preferably in a polar solvent, in a discrete area with a release material. The release material prevents the backsheet from blocking in roll form and allows the pressure-sensitive adhesive fastening tab to be removed from the backsheet without destruction of the backsheet.

  • Patent number: 5554146
Abstract: A mechanical fastening system for a diaper or like disposable garment of a male mechanical fastening tab (e.g., a hook-type fastener) attached to a corner or edge region of the garment with a mating fibrous web on an opposing corner or edge region. The male mechanical fastening tab creates two areas of attachment, an outward portion extending beyond the first corner or edge region and an inward area extending inward of the first corner or edge region, where both areas of attachment engage the fibrous web on the opposing corner or edge. The male mechanical fastening tab with the fibrous web creates a secure non-rotational attachment using a single fastening tab.

  • Patent number: 5509950
Abstract: The filter device (10) has a filter element (12) including a filter medium (20) arranged in zig-zag shaped pleats. On its two longitudinal sides extending in the pleating direction (36), the filter medium (20) is provided with stabilizing strips (34) bonded thereto for stabilizing the zig-zag-shaped pleated configuration of the filter medium (20). During use of the filter device (10), the filter element (12) is arranged within a filter element holding frame (14) which is inserted in a holding members, e.g. in the air inlet shaft (18) of an air conditioning system. Due to a certain inherent stability of shape of the filter medium (20) and the stabilizing strips (34), the filter element (12) is sufficiently firm and has a self-supporting construction. The filter element (12) is easy to handle and can be inserted into the filter element holding frame (14) in a simple manner. Except for the actual filter medium (20), the filter element (12) requires little extra material, i.e.

  • Patent number: 5501794
Abstract: The filter system including a filter element arranged in wave or zigzag shaped folds and having flat filter element portions and intermediate bending lines. The longitudinal edges of the filter element are connected to tensioning bands. When the filter element is stretched, these tensioning bands are tensioned and in their tensioned condition fulfill a holding function for holding the filter element portions in the stretched condition of the filter element. Thus, no spacers are required on the filter frame for maintaining the stability of shape of the filter element.
