Abstract: A portable travel mirror device includes a base, a handle pivotably mounted to the base, and a dual mirror assembly mounted to the handle which is pivotable and telescopically extendable between compact transport and upright use configurations, and includes a circular primary mirror frame holding a magnifying mirror encircled by a ring-shaped lamp energized by a power source within the base, and overlain by a diffuser ring. A secondary mirror pivotably and swivelably attached to the primary mirror frame has a different magnification factor, e.g., 1×, and is pivotable upwards from a travel position overlying and protecting the primary mirror to an upright use position, and is also swivelable into contact with the primary mirror frame, whereby light from the lamp is transmitted through the diffuser ring and a transparent secondary mirror bezel to illuminate objects in front of the primary or secondary mirror.
Abstract: A portable game board has a ring-shaped frame containing at least one slide panel marked with indicia used to score trajectories of playing disks slidably launched on the slide panel, which comprises a base panel, an optionally segmented game indicia panel placed on the base panel, or a transparent window slide panel. A pair of base panels having different game indicia are positionable back-to-back within the frame, and selectable by inverting the frame. The board is optionally supportable at an adjustable elevation angle, quantifiably increasing the energy required to propel a disk to distance markers on a panel. An optional platform rotatably supports the game board, facilitating access to board locations by a circle of players. Optionally, an indicia panel contains one or more recessed magnetic slugs; playing disks are provided with one or more ferromagnetic inserts which interact with the slugs to alter the trajectory of a disk.
Abstract: A peelable stenciling ink for imprinting indicia such as letters, numbers and symbols on a surface of an article such as a sport ball made of leather or a synthetic polymer, e.g., a thermoplastic material, consists of a solvent, a dye dispersed in the solvent, and a film-forming polymer soluble in the dye-solvent solution to form a thick paste and hardenable into a solid, flexible film upon evaporation of the solvent from a thin layer of ink applied to an article surface.
Abstract: A dental prostheses modeling system includes a re-usable tray having in an upper part thereof a trough for receiving a semi-liquid casting material such as plaster of Paris or die stone, the trough having opposed vertical walls in which are formed alternating vertically disposed ribs and grooves for molding complementary shaped grooves and ribs in opposed sides of the base of a dental model casting molded in said tray. The trough has a base frame which overlies an upwardly concave lower cavity for receiving liquid die stone after the casting base has solidified, hardened and been removed. The base frame has therethrough an elongated aperture joining the upper trough to the lower cavity. A resilient insert is removably lodged in the base frame aperture to form therewith a liquid-tight seal, whereupon liquid die stone is poured into the upper trough to form the base of a dental model casting. After the casting has hardened, the insert is removed, and pins are fitted into selected portions of the cast base.

Abstract: A dual magnification mirror system includes two mirrors having different magnifications, e.g., 5× and 7×, each mounted in a frame fastened to an opposite end of an elongated flexible arm. Each frame is so constructed as to enable it to be interchangeably placeable, mirror face down, on a horizontal supporting surface, such as that of a table or counter top, thus locating the other mirror above the supporting surface, at viewing position which is adjustable by a user by bending the flexible arm. The system also includes a wall mounting bracket fastenable to a vertical wall surface, the mounting bracket having on a front surface thereof a pocket for downwardly insertably receiving and supporting a peripheral flange which protrudes radially outwards from each mirror frame, thus enabling each mirror to be interchangeably inserted into the pocket, and thereby locating the other mirror at a flexibly adjustable viewing position spaced outwardly from the mounting bracket.
Abstract: A personal care accessory for carrying cosmetic articles and viewing one's image during their use includes a shallow open top basket which has releasably attached to opposite sides thereof an inverted U-shaped bail-type handle. The vertical segments of the handle are elastically deformable apart to disengage and reattach the handle to the basket. The handle has a straight upper central portion over which is fitted a tubular end portion of a mirror assembly support bracket, the other end of the bracket supporting an inverted U-shaped yoke which holds a mirror. The mirror is rotatable about a yoke pivot axis to a desired inclination angle, and the yoke assembly is orbitable around the handle to position the mirror at a selected polar angle.
Abstract: A stencil apparatus includes an elongated stencil support strip having at least one longitudinally extruding severance line, and at least one stencil support area between the severance line and the edge of the stencil support strip. Stencil elements with pressure sensitive adhesive on their lower surfaces are releasably mounted on the stencil support areas, arrangements are provided for permitting the removal of material underlying the stencil elements. The stencil apparatus may be formed of either one or two layers and have upper and lower support strips.
Abstract: An air conditioning apparatus for isolated interior spaces of structures includes a hollow tubular-shaped enclosure which has a longitudinally elongated box-like shape. The enclosure has a transversely disposed inlet opening, a transversely disposed outlet opening, and a fan for drawing air through the enclosure from the inlet side, the air being expelled from an outlet port in the outlet opening of the enclosure. The enclosure also includes an air filter, at least one evaporator connected to a refrigerant compressor and refrigerant-to-water heat exchanger/condenser, and an evaporative cooler assembly including a plurality of nozzles for converting water supplied under pressure to the nozzles to fine spray. Water supplied to and warmed by thermal contact with pressurized refrigerant in the water heat exchanger, as well as excess water spray which does not evaporate, is discharged to a location exterior to the enclosed space, such as a sewer drain, thus dumping heat energy to the exterior location.
Abstract: A freight storage container includes six rectangularly-shaped panels including a base panel, a front end panel hingedly fastened to a front edge of the base panel and pivotable into overlying contact therewith, and a rear panel hingedly fastened to a rear edge of the base panel and pivotable downwards to overlie the front end panel. The container is assembled on-site by folding upwardly the rear and front panels, installing two side panels in the base, and fastening a roof panel to upper peripheral edge walls of the side and end panels, by novel fastener joints each consisting of a tubular hinge lug member protruding downwards from a lower inside surface of the roof panel, a coaxially aligned tubular side panel hinge lug member protruding inwardly from a side panel, and a stainless steel friction pin forced into an interference fit within coaxially aligned bores of the two lugs.
Abstract: A fogless mirror for use in showers includes a shower arm adapter having a tubular body attachable at one end to a shower arm and at the other end to a shower nozzle; a bore disposed longitudinally through the tubular body conveys warm water from the shower arm to the nozzle, and a small orifice disposed radially through the tubular body diverts a small portion of water conveyed through the bore. A first rotatable coupler rotatably mounted to the shower arm adapter and angularly adjustable in a first plane conducts water diverted from the bore of the tubular body into a first outlet port boss. A second rotatable coupler rotatably mounted to the first outlet port boss and angularly adjustable in a second plane conducts water through a rigid tubular support arm to a mirror support frame, heating the mirror and thereby inhibiting condensation fogging thereof.
Abstract: An apparatus for pointing twist drill bits includes a processing unit which has a rotary index plate on which are mounted a plurality, e.g., five, of drill bit holders which are circumferentially spaced apart at equal, e.g., 72-degree intervals, and a loading unit which has located adjacent to the index plate a rotary pedestal on which are mounted an equal number of transfer arms. Located around the periphery of the processing unit and loading unit are a plurality of processing stations and loading unit operation stations, respectively.
Abstract: A silicate based composition for optical glass used as a substrate for thin film optical interference filters having a stable transmission band center wavelength and bandwidth has a relatively high coefficient of thermal expansion, high Young's modulus and high optical transmittance in the near infrared (NIR) wavelength range of about 950 nm to about 1600 nm. The coefficient of thermal expansion of the glass composition is adjustable to particular values to result in minimal wavelength shift in filters made by depositing thin films of particular dielectric materials onto a substrate made of the glass, the composition being varied from a preferred baseline composition consisting of about 43.2% SiO2, 7% Al2O3, 12.7% CaO, 7.3% SrO, 7.8% Li2O, 13.2% Na2O, 8.0% K2O, 0.7% ZrO, and 0.1% Sb2O3, the baseline composition having a coefficient of thermal expansion of about 112×10−7/° C. over the temperature range of −30° C. to +70° C., a Young's modulus E of 88.
Abstract: A golf putter includes a polyhedrally-shaped head having a plurality of generally vertically disposed ball-impacting faces which have different ball impacting characteristics and a shaft having at the lower end thereof a hosel terminated by a prism-shaped lower shaft end that has a polygonal transverse cross section. The head has protruding perpendicularly downwards from an upper surface thereof a centrally located bore having a polygonal cross section of the same shape but slightly larger than that of the prism-shaped end of the hosel, which is inserted into the bore at a selected angular orientation relative to the head to position a selected ball impacting face in a conventional ball-impacting disposition relative to the shaft grip, and releasably secured at that position by a screw inserted through the sole of the head and tightened into a threaded bore provided in the hosel end.
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting whether bonding wire supplied to an ultrasonic bonding tool of an ultrasonic bonding machine is present in a bore of the tool tip and providing an alarm signal if a wire segment normally within the bore is absent because of inadvertent breakage or misfeeding of the wire includes an electronic switching and detection module connected between a machine ground terminal connected to a wire supply reel and a bonding tool electrically isolated from the machine ground. In response to an enable signal input to the module prior to making the first of a pair of ultrasonic bonds to interconnect a pair of binding sites by a bonding wire, electronic switching means within the module electrically isolate the machine ground from the tool, and electric continuity detection means within the module determines whether the tool has been brought to voltage level near that of the machine ground by electrical conductive contact between the wire segment within the tool bore, and the bore wall.
Abstract: An apparatus for inhibiting wide dispersal of heat, smoke and noxious gases from a fire in a structure such as a building occupied by people, thereby facilitating evacuation of the building through exit routes rendered relatively smoke-free by the apparatus includes a portable enclosure which has an entrance opening hermetically sealable to a doorway opening when the enclosure is moved into position adjacent to the doorway, and encloses an open-top tank which contains water, and a vertical baffle which protrudes downwardly from a roof panel of the enclosure, the baffle being disposed transversely across the enclosure with a lower edge of the baffle immersed beneath the surface of the water to thereby form a water-trap type air-lock.
