Abstract: A baseball bat swing training apparatus includes a base which sits on the ground with a vertically extending post extending from the base. A baseball bat swing guide is attached to the post which has a pair of parallel swing guide connected at one end and open at the other end. The swing guide arms are positioned at a predetermined slope to the post of between 50 and 80 degrees. Each arm has an approximately 90 degree bend therein to form a bent U-shape. A ball holding cup can be attached to the lower arm while the ball holder can be attached to the upper arm and the vertically extending post is a telescoping post for adjusting the height thereof and may be a dual post. A second embodiment has a pair of posts and a pair of base members for supporting a pair of swing guide arms.

Abstract: An illuminated vehicle display apparatus has a flexible electroluminescent panel having a front planar surface which directly generates illumination when excited by an alternating current. A thin flat flexible opaque shield has cutout areas to form designs therein and is attached over the electroluminescent panel planar surface so that portions of the panel are visible through the opaque shield so that indicia and graphic designs are defined by the visible electroluminescent light. A thin flexible magnetic sheet of material is attached over the rear surface of the electroluminescent panel for removably attaching the vehicle sign to the side of a vehicle. The electroluminescent panel has a pair of conductors coupled thereto and through a DC to AC converter and is attached to the vehicle battery, such as through the vehicle cigarette lighter.

Abstract: A remote control lighter-than-air toy apparatus has an inflatable container having a predetermined shape, such as the shape of a dirigible, for holding a lighter-than-air gas. A gondola is removably attached to the inflatable container and has a shaft extending therethrough and rotably supported thereon. A reversible electric motor is attached to each end portion of the shaft passing through the gondola with each electric motor having a propeller attached thereto for rotation upon actuation of the electric motor. Each of the electric motors and propellers are fixedly attached to the shaft. A tether line is formed of a plurality of conductors, each connected at one end to one of the electric motors and connected at the other end to a control box having a plurality of controls thereon for remotely controlling each motor separately, so that a lighter than air toy can be remotely controlled with two propellers.

Abstract: A diatomaceous earth caking filter element includes a first elongated tubular manifold having a slot therein and a suction coupling formed thereon for drawing a liquid from said first manifold. A second elongated tubular manifold has a slot therein and a plurality of hollow pipes connected between the first and second manifolds with one end of each pipe extending into the first manifold through the slot therein and the other end of each pipe extending into the second manifold through the slot therein. Each pipe is held by the slot edges of each manifold extending into an annular groove on each end of each pipe. A filter cake screen covers both sides of the plurality of hollow pipes for catching a filtering medium, such as diatomaceous earth, thereon for filtering liquid passing therethrough, so the liquid can be drawn through the filter medium and filter screen into the first and second manifolds and out the suction coupling.

Abstract: A wind deflector and bug screen clip apparatus is used in connection with an air current deflector shield which is attached to a vehicle with a supporting channel member attached to the bottom of the shield and has a detachable cover attachable to the front of the vehicle and to the front of the air current deflector shield. A clip member for attaching the attachable cover to the air current deflector shield has a body having a pair of slots formed therein with a predetermined shape for sliding onto the supporting channel member of the air current deflector shield with a snap portion formed on the front thereof for attaching to snap portions on the detachable cover. The clips can be slid onto an existing air current deflector shield supporting member and the detachable cover readily attached to the snap portion formed on each clip.

Abstract: A spice container rack apparatus having a carousel support base with a rotable carousel platform rotably mounted thereto. The rotable carousel platform has a center portion and an annular spice container holding base extending around the center portion. The annular spice container holding base has a plurality of first recessed areas having arcuate edges and a bottom for holding a spice container therein. The annular spice container holding base has a plurality of second recessed areas formed therein with each second recessed area being formed in the bottom of one of said first recessed areas and also has walls on the bottom for supporting a spice container having a different sized bottom therein from the spice container held in said first recessed area. The rotable carousel platform center portion may hold other containers or items therein. The center portion may be raised to extend above the general level of spice containers surrounding the center portion.

Abstract: A paper towel holder apparatus has a base plate mountable on a support surface and a means for rotatably holding a roll of paper towels for rotation of the roll of towels on its axis. An arcuate frame has a cylindrical brake bar mounted on one side thereof and fasteners rotatably fastening the arcuate frame to the base plate below the center axis and parallel to the center axis of a roll of paper towels held in the paper towel holder. The arcuate frame brake extends parallel to the axis of the roll of paper towels and is supported on the roll of towels along the top of the roll so that the arcuate frame extends at least 90.degree. around a roll of paper towels to prevent the towels from being blown by air movement and to provide a brake for tearing the paper towels.

Abstract: A disposable diaper apparatus is provided for use on babies and is made of a layered flat absorbent material having a generally rectangular shape and first and second end portions and a center portion. The center portion has arcuate edges extending into the generally rectangular shape to provide a form fitting diaper having a pair of attaching tapes for holding the first and second end portions together. The improvement in the diaper includes, a removable perforated area in the first end portion along one edge thereof and positioned to fit over a navel area of a baby wearing the diaper so that the perforated area can be removed for young babies to help prevent umbilical infection in the baby.

Abstract: An apparatus for measuring peak expiratory flow of a human patient and an incentive spirometer has a housing having a passageway and a mouthpiece connected to the passageway. An elongated slender rod extends through the passageway and has a sliding member a predetermined size slideably mounted thereon adapted to slide on the rod when a patient exhales into the mouthpiece through the passageway. A magnet is attached to the slideable member for sliding therewith to hold the slideable member in position at the maximum position the slideable is raised on the slender rod. The passageway may be tapered in a reverse cone shape making the sliding member more difficult to raise as it moves up the passageway so that patients can lift the slideable member, while most patients cannot lift the member all the way to the top of the passageway.

Abstract: A grove sprayer includes a wheeled vehicle having at least one blower thereon blowing into a cowling for directing the air to the side of the sprayer onto the grove foliage. A plurality of spray nozzles are located in the cowling openings in position to cover a plurality of spray zones. A plurality of foliage sensors are positioned to cover a plurality of spray zones for detecting when foliage is located within each spray zone. The foliage sensors actuate each spray nozzle responsive to foliage being sensed within a spray zone, so that only those spray nozzles are actuated to spray foliage. The foliage sensors actuate the spray nozzles after a measured delay to compensate for the length of the moving vehicle. A speed sensor varies the liquid feed to the nozzles and provides a signal by which the delay is determined between the foliage sensor positions and the nozzle positions of the moving vehicle.

Abstract: A flexible corrugated hose coupling apparatus is provided for coupling a corrugated hose to a cylindrical neck or sleeve. A resilient hollow cylindrical coupling member has two ends and a generally smooth interior and exterior cylindrical surface and has an annular coaxial bore extending into one end thereof and shaped for threadedly receiving a corrugated hose of a predetermined size to allow the flexible coupling member to be threaded onto the end of a flexible corrugated hose. A clamp can be extended around the resilient hollow cylindrical coupling member for clamping the coupling member and the hose threaded thereinto a coupling neck, such as the neck from a vehicle radiator, so that a flexible corrugated hose can be cut to any length and attach to a smooth or rigid neck with a clamp to achieve a fluid type seal between the corrugated hose and neck.

Abstract: A tank filtration and dispersion system is provided for use in tanks containing liquid chemicals for filtering, agitating and dispersing the liquid. A housing has an electric motor attached thereto and connected to an impeller located in the housing for rotation upon actuation of the electric motor. A filter is removably attached to the housing and a fluid output is provided for dispersing the fluid drawn through the filter responsive to the actuation of the impeller. The output has a dispersion tube in the tank. A separate dispersion output may be is provided having a venturi and a spaced aspiration sleeve therearound. The impeller has vanes with flat leading edges and curved trailing edges to enhance pumping action.

Abstract: A fishing tackle box apparatus has a housing with a plurality of sides and a latchable lid hinged thereto. A first carousel is rotatably mounted in the housing and has a plurality of radially extending support arms mounted around a center support cylinder for hanging a plurality of fishing lures thereon and a second carousel is slidably mounted in the center of the first carousel and also has a plurality of radially extending support arms mounted around a center support cylinder. The first carousel can be rotated to a proper position and the second carousel telescoped up for selecting a fishing lure. The fishing tackle box also has a storage drawer slidably from one side thereof and a slideout front panel. A storage space is provided for storing the panel and the box sidewalls have drain openings and at least one ventilation opening.

Abstract: A portable aerosol airbrush type gun apparatus is used for applying liquid cosmetics. A pressurized container has a liquid cosmetic compound therein under pressure. An airbrush type nozzle is attached to the container and operatively connected thereinto and has a flow restrictor and a needle therein. A valve is mounted to the container adjacent the nozzle for releasing the pressurized liquid in the pressurized container into the nozzle responsive to the actuation of the valve. The valve has a hinged finger lever mounted for actuating the valve with an operator's finger. A handle is hinged to the container nozzle housing and has a first storage position adjacent the pressurized container and a second operating position for supporting the operator's hand so that facial makeup and cosmetics can be applied with an airbrush type nozzle in a pressurized storage aerosol container.

Abstract: A stopper removal apparatus is provided having an elongated flexible hollow stopper removal member for removing a stopper form a medical container and having an open end and a closed end, the stopper removal member has an angled protective shield adapted to extend over a medical container stopper and to cover a portion of the medical container. A first flexible stopper gripping portion of the stopper removal member is connected to the angled protective shield and can be compressed onto the stopper for removing the stopper. A second flexible stopper gripping portion is smaller in size than the first stopper gripping portion and is connected to the first stopper gripping portion for gripping and removing a smaller stopper from medical containers, so that a person can remove a plurality of sizes of stoppers from medical containers with one size shielded stopper removal apparatus while being shielded from the contents of the medical container.
