  • Patent number: 4899680
Abstract: A boat mooring device, and a method of using it, includes a first shank member, having an axial protuberance thereon and three integrally connected cross arm members, and a second shank member having an axial protuberance thereon, a pair of parallel spaced apart cross arms, one at the end of said second shank member, and a U-shaped yoke disposed at the opposite end of said second shank member for releasably receiving the first shank member, and a mooring line attached to a boat.

  • Patent number: 4889605
Abstract: A plasma pinch system includes a fluid-jet pinch device for establishing a plasma source composed of a tenuous vapor preconditioning cloud surrounding a central narrow flowing fine stream of fluid under pressure. A discharge device is connected electrically to the fluid-jet pinch device for supplying an electrical flow through a portion of the fluid stream for establishing an incoherent light emitting plasma therealong. A method of using the plamsa pinch system for manufacturing semiconductors, includes exposing a semiconductor wafer to the incoherent light emitted by the plasma for either annealing or etching purposes.

  • Patent number: 4886478
Abstract: The sail toy land vehicle includes a generally rod-like elongated frame or central body, having a raised forward portion, an elongated rigid rear wheel axle structure includes a pair of rear outrigger wheels to help support the vehicle rollably along the ground. An aerodynamic upright sail structure has a sail positioned such that its center of gravity is disposed approximately over the rear axle structure of the vehicle, and positioned in a rearwardly inclined manner.

  • Patent number: 4876648
Abstract: A computerized mortgage implementing system includes a central service computer, which helps establish and maintain mortgage plans based upon mortgages at least partially collateralized by investment vehicles. Both a plurality of groups of investment vehicle information and mortgage information are stored in the service computer. Borrower information is entered in the service computer when a mortgage plan is to be established. An individual one of the groups of investment information is selected. A desired amount of the investment funding is determined for helping repay a mortgage plan. Mortgage implementing information is generated for a given mortgage plan, and is sent to a mortgage lender computer to facilitate the establishment of the mortgage plan.

  • Patent number: 4863184
Abstract: A tractor-trailer landing gear mechanism for helping support a trailer end, includes a pair of elongated extendable and retractable telescoping legs. A reversible electrical motor interconnects the legs, for causing them to be retracted or extended to a desired predetermined latching position. The upright tubular member includes a plurality of outwardly extending bores, for receiving a plurality of corresponding latching pins. A plurality of similar normally deactivated solenoids are disposed on the outer sleeve to drive a safety pin into latching engagement with a corresponding bore, when the leg is extended to a desired length. A plurality of normally deactivated detectors are mounted on corresponding solenoids, for sensing the presence of a predetermined latching position. A control board includes a plurality of manually activated switches, for causing the motor to rotate in predetermined directions, and for causing the landing gear mechanism to either retract or extend.

  • Patent number: 4837693
Abstract: The system includes a group of computers for facilitating the implementation and administration of a desired group insurance plan, having conversion rights for individuals. The system includes information gathering devices for receiving and storing employer and employee base information, and devices for generating summarized base information signals in response to the information gathering devices. Devices generate report displays of summarized base information responsive to the signals. Also, devices calculate iteratively a desired employer contribution amount based upon the base information signals.
