Abstract: A sled having a planar platform with tubular runners mounted for pivoting and sliding at points fore and aft of the platform. Because the runners can pivot and slide at the fore and aft points, the entire length of the runner can be bowed for increased maneuverability. The runners are of low friction plastic tubing for speed and are mounted by means of clips which allow for sliding, pivoting, and easy replacement of the runners.

Abstract: The disclosed fishing lure is a surface-type lure for attracting large mouth bass. The lure includes a shank with a barbed hook at one end and an eyelet at the other. A body with a skirt is attached adjacent the hook and two rearwardly extending arms are attached at the eyelet. Each arm has a propeller rotatably mounted on it, and a flotation device is attached to the rear end of each arm. The propellers and flotation devices bring the lure to the surface quickly during retrieval and allow a slow rate of retrieval.

Abstract: A security and surveillance system having a central monitoring station connected to a plurality of remote installations or subscribers by a transmission medium having a finite bandwidth. Each remote installation includes a plurality of surveillance equipment, including video, audio, and alarm signals, associated with a plurality of monitored locations. The security information collected by the surveillance equipment is serially sampled by a switcher which provides that information to an interface unit transmitter. The interface unit transmitter compresses the video information and decodes the alarm information and then using a key frequency and single side band modulation techniques modulates and sub-channelizes the processed security information into a frequency spectrum. The sub-channelized security information is translated in frequency and transmitted on the transmission medium.

Abstract: There is disclosed a refrigeration system for a soft drink plant which refrigeration system provides cooling for cooler/carbonators used in the manufacturing of soft drink and which utilizes any access compressor capacity to precool water being used in the manufacture of soft drinks while assuring priority and adequate cooling capacity for the cooler/carbonators.

Abstract: There is disclosed a preparation and method of treating Acne vulgaris which comprises topical application of a preparation comprising an antibacterial agent dissolved in DMSO. The antibacterial agents include ara-A, acyclovir, ribavirin, amikacin, cefamandole, cefoxitin, erythromycin, tetracycline, tobramycin, vancomycin, lincomycin, and carbenicillin.

Abstract: There is disclosed an antiviral composition for treating herpes simplex virus disease and a method for administering the antiviral composition by topical application on the infected portion of the human body. The antiviral composition comprises a mixture of an antiviral agent, ara-A, and a solvent carrier medium, dimethyl sulfoxide.

Abstract: There is disclosed a device for atomizing and dispersing fuel in a fuel/air mixture of the propeller type for an internal combustion engine. The housing of the device comprises two concentric barrels, each having a symmetrical bearing support. The barrels are press fit together to assure bearing alignment for the propeller. A downstream screen protects the engine from debris and further atomizes the fuel without substantially restricting fuel/air flow.
