  • Patent number: 3972261
Abstract: A rocket catapult arrangement having an erector mechanism to move the roc catapult from an out-of-the-way prone position to an upright firing position immediately before launch. • Patent number: 3972288
Abstract: A spool wrapped with a covered fuze delay wire in which accurately predicle delays are obtainable and adverse relative or slippage motion between the wire and the spool flanges is precluded, especially during operative burning of the wire. The fuze wire passes through and is secured to the spool flanges by means of heat shrunk tubing elements abutting the opposed faces of each spool flange and containing a silicone rubber strip in which are embedded uncovered wire portions. The heat shrunk tubing is of silicone rubber material to insulate the uncovered wire portions from the spool.

  • Patent number: 3972287
Abstract: A gas generating cartridge case having a close tolerance delay ignition u intermediate ignition train elements and which functions with reliable accuracy and is insensitive to large temperature variations or extremes. An aluminum cartridge case, carrying a gas generating charge, has a retainer secured in its rearward end. The retainer has a base portion containing a percussion primer and a cylindrical sidewall portion containing the delay ignition unit that includes a spool having ignition train elements in its end flanges and a burnable fuze delay wire secured to the spool flanges and interconnecting the ignition train elements. The spool and retainer base portion are longitudinally spaced to provide a cavity therebetween for precluding primer overpressurization.
