  • Patent number: 6395915
Abstract: A method separating tocotrienols from tocopherols and the isomers thereof on a large-scale or commercially feasible basis. Separation is accomplished using reverse phase partition liquid chromatography. The chromatography column is prepared using a stationary phase comprising a hydrophobic or aromatic reverse phase chromatography media. The mobile phase consists of a solvent which is capable of solubilizing the crude stock, tocotrienols and tocopherols. The chromatography column containing the stationary and mobile phases is loaded with a crude feed stock and the tocotrienols, tocopherols and/or isomers thereof are eluted at a predetermined linear velocity.

  • Patent number: 6202467
Abstract: A hybrid integrated circuit of a gas sensor, comprising a substrate (1) in the form of a ring-shaped peripheral portion (2) and a disk-shaped central portion (3), both being interconnected through three jumpers (4) spaced 120° apart and having three branchings (10) arranged at 120° at the peripheral portion (2). The central portion (3) carries a gas-sensitive film (7), a film heater (6), and a film electrode (8) of the circuit for measuring the resistance of the gas-sensitive film (7). The heater (6) and the electrode (8) are electrically connected along the jumpers (4) to bonding pads (5) located in the peripheral portion (2). The thickness of the jumpers (4) and of the central portion (3) is 0.15-0.25 mm, and the width of the jumpers (4) is 0.05-0.15 mm.

  • Patent number: 6196668
Abstract: A system for supplying ink to a composite printing head has a first compartment in fluid flow communication with a first set of orifices, and a second compartment in fluid flow communication with a second set of orifices. The first and second compartments are configured to allow the egress of ink to maintain the level of ink therein at a desired fill height. A reservoir is also provided for supplying ink to the first and second compartments.

  • Patent number: 6192357
Abstract: A method of joining two or more sets of data in a database is provided wherein certain dimensions in the fact data are designated as being forced dimensions, and wherein for each forced dimension, a set of entries is created in the fact data each with the same key values in all of the dimensions other than the forced dimension, and each with a different member of the set of values existing in the fact data for that dimension, if and only if at least one entry exists in the fact data with the same set of key values in the dimensions other than the forced dimension.

  • Patent number: 5074558
Abstract: A matrix address decoder for rolling ball games performs decoding of a sequential identification number and a base address into an offset address corresponding to a memory location containing status information for playfield features or switches. The matrix address decoder also generates a mask byte for use in subsequent logical operations involving the status information contained in memory. The decoded information is returned to the main microprocessor via the system bus. An alternate function returns only the mask byte when the offset address is known by the main microprocessor.

  • Patent number: 4856785
Abstract: A joystick actuator for controlling the positioning of objects, for instance, displays on CRTs, having a pivotally mounted control stick operatively engaging and driving a pair of optical-mask members. The optical-mask members are retained for rectilinear sliding motion relative to fixed mounted opto-switches and include spaced fins positioned to interrupt light communication within respective opto-switches. Positioning of the opto-switches and spacing of the mask fins are selected to provide successive unblocking of the interrupted light communication as the control column is displaced from neutral thereby encoding both the direction and magnitude of stick deflection.

  • Patent number: 4790536
Abstract: A dual-coil solenoid for actuating pin ball game flippers having a high actuation and ball propelling force and a lower flipper and ball holding force. The solenoid includes low and high resistance coils placed in electrically parallel relationship across a source of electrical energy upon actuation of a flipper switch by a game player. Upon full deflection of the flipper and solenoid, an end of stroke switch automatically removes electrical energy from the low resistance coil thereby leaving only the high resistance coil energized to hold the flipper and game ball in position. A capacitance is positioned across the end of stroke switch to absorb electrical energy from the low resistance coil and to protect the switch. Diodes further protect both switch and the capacitor from excessive voltage transients.
