  • Patent number: 5429324
Abstract: A jet blast deflector fence comprising two curved corrugated deflecting surfaces separated from each other in a common structural framework that is fastened to a concrete foundation, with the taller front deflecting surface open at the bottom to permit the high speed jet exhaust ground layer component to split off and pass through the opening to impinge upon the shorter rear deflecting surface which deflects that component vertically upward to hug the convex rear surface of the front deflector, while the upper slower moving component of the jet blast is guided upwardly by the concave surface of the front deflecting surface such that the two split layers come together in a substantially vertical direction at the discharge edge of the taller deflecting surface to form a vertical air curtain which aerodynamically increases the effective height of the blast deflector.

  • Patent number: 5127609
Abstract: A jet blast deflector fence designed to present a cleaner, simpler, aesthetically pleasing appearance, the deflector fence comprised of simple frames which include only two structural members, a curved rib channel member securedly and hingedly attached to an airport apron and a vertical King post of angle iron which is rigidly secured at its lower end and hingedly attached at its upper end to the channel. A corrugated deflection surface overlies and is fastened to the curved rib members. Because of the respective hinged attachments of the rib members to the apron and the King posts to the rib members the distance between the lower end of the channel member and the King post can be adjusted to reduce the apron space required for the fence. One or more ventilating slots are included to reduce turbulence in order to improve deflection performance.

  • Patent number: 4819819
Abstract: A tamper evident closure for a container generally having a cylindrical upstanding neck or throat, the neck having an external thread. The closure comprises an annular element which slides into and mates with the throat of the container, a cylindrical cup which frictionally engages the end of the annular element that extends into the container, the bottom of the cup constituting a flat disc having frangible lines which begin at the outer edge of the disc and wind spirally to the center of the disc ending in a pull tab which extends upwardly in the cup, and a clear cap the internal threads of which mate with the external threads of the neck. The annular element is made of rigid plastic material that is suitable for ultrasonic welding to the throat to create an integrity of the throat and closure. The cup is made of a softer deformable material such that when the pull tab is pulled to open the closure the unwound portion will be so deformed that it cannot be replaced in its original condition.

  • Patent number: 4796893
Abstract: The portable golfball teeing device consists of a portable case, the upper portion of which opens into a hopper to receive a bucket of golf balls. The apparatus within the case for separating and singularizing the golf balls consists of a platform at the bottom of the hopper having inclined surfaces leading to a funnel shaped opening in the platform, a rotatable cup located at the bottom of the funnel to receive the golf balls singly, and three blades which are suspended for movement through slits in the platofrm, the blades include an outer parallel pair which move in an arcuate path and a central blade which reciprocates in a vertical path. The blades are interconnected with the cup and move in response to movement of the cup. The cup is rotated by a linear gear, meshing with gear teeth on the cup, which is actuated by a foot pedal that is connected to the gear by a wire. In operation, pressure on the foot pedal rotates the cup to release a ball from the cup down a guide connected to the cup to a tee.

  • Patent number: 4733874
Abstract: An assembly designed for use on the main drive gear output shaft of a motorcycle, and in similar applications, and including a seal which is press fitted into the cavity of a nut. The nut and seal combination is concentrically positionable over the output shaft, and the seal includes a rubber skirt having a spring positioned around its periphery. The spring maintains the skirt in contact with the output shaft to thus create the seal.

  • Patent number: 4722511
Abstract: A lifting and transporting device for toilets includes a wheeled frame to which a pair of moveable lifting bars are attached. Moveable support collars and adjustable lifting rods are attached to the lifting bars, and the collars and rods are selectively positionable about a toilet to perform a holding and supporting function. The lifting bars are selectively vertically moveable by a hand actuated threaded rod. After a toilet has been lifted from the floor, it can be transported by the invention to a desired location and then lowered into position by a reverse operation of the threaded lifter.
