Abstract: The direction altering device is used in conjunction with an emergency or exit rope or friction type lowering device. The purpose of the device is to hold the exit rope in a fixed position at the point on a bucket of a bucket truck, cherrypicker, or overhead crane, or on a window sill from which the emergency exit is being taken by the user. The device is clamped onto a surface such as the lip or edge of a bucket, liner, or combination of both, crane surface, or window sill, by placing the device on the said mounting surface so that the mounting surface is inserted into a channel formed on the device; screws mounted in one of the sides of the channel are then tightened to hold the device securely on the surface of the structure from which the descent is to be made.
Abstract: The toothpaste dispensing apparatus of my invention comprises an enclosure which houses multiple separate tube holders for holding the tubes of paste. It, also, contains a reversible motor connected by a worm screw to a holder containing a pair of movable rollers for dispensing tooth paste, shaving cream, etc. from any of its multiple positions. The paste is discharged at the bottom of the inner tube holder by a squeezing pressure exerted upon the tube by the pair of rollers which moves downward over the inner tube holder. This device is equipped with a switch for automatically reversing the downward direction of the rollers when the contents of the tube have been exhausted. A most unique feature is the provision for housing several tubes and the selector knob, which allows the operator to choose either one of the several tubes on which to operate without having to dismantle or load or unload the device.
Abstract: This apparatus comprises a housing having a chamber lined with heat-resistant material in which exhaust gases, from an internal combustion engine, are reburned. The apparatus also contains refractory screens to more efficiently break up the gases, before they enter a sump portion into which solid impurities fall from the said gas. Further filtering of the gases occurs as they pass through screens and a filter means before the said gases are released from the housing into the atmosphere.
