Abstract: A chip component supply apparatus of the invention includes a container box for storing chip components in pieces, a means for conveying chip components from the container box onto a conveyor belt, which moves intermittently and conveys the transferred chip components toward a take-out port area where a vacuum suction nozzle of an electronic component placement machine takes out the chip components. A stopper is positioned in the vicinity of the take-out port area for stopping the chip components conveyed by the conveyor belt at the take-out port area. The stopper moves and departs from the vicinity of the take-out port area when the conveyor belt finishes intermittent motion and stops, and returns and is positioned at the take-out port area before the next chip component conveyed by next intermittent motion of the conveyor belt reaches the take-out port area.

Abstract: A processor element is provided with a data transfer control circuit that sends out an address count pulse (ACNT) onto a control bus. N data transfer channels each contain a data transfer buffer and a buffer control circuit. The buffer control circuit comprises an identification number register, an input/output control circuit, an address counter, and a comparison circuit. The address counter holds a channel address that is preset in such a way as to allow each channel to take the same channel address number, and increments such a channel address each time it receives the ACNT. If the identification number and the channel address coincide, the data transfer buffer in the same channel is selected. The number of interconnecting wires can be reduced and the transfer of data can be carried out at a high transfer rate, in a multiprocessor system whose linking network between each processor is formed by a series of data transfer channels.

Abstract: A movable blade cartridge including a platform member having a blade seat and a guard member. The guard member is located of forward and parallel to the blade seat so as to form a longitudinal slot between the blade seat and the guard member. A primary blade which is disposed on the blade seat such that the cutting edge of the blade is located rearwardly of the guard member. A substantial portion of the primary blade extends into the slot formed between the guard member and the blade seat such that the blade is flexible into the slot. A spacer is located on the upper surface of the primary blade. The spacer comprises a rear portion which functions to separate the primary blade and a secondary blade, as well as a forward portion which extends from the rear portion and functions to prevent upward movement of the primary blade, and create an opening beneath the forward portion of the spacer and the lower surface of the secondary blade.
Abstract: The invention provides lavendamycin analogs having the following formula: ##STR1## wherein X, Y and R.sup.1 through R.sup.9 are defined in the specification, and salts of these analogs. The invention also provides a method of making the lavendamycin analogs. The lavendamycin analogs have antitumor and antimicrobial activity.
Abstract: Chewing gum products containing polydextrose and methods of making such products are disclosed. In one embodiment, the polydextrose is used in a rolling compound applied to the chewing gum product. In a second embodiment, the polydextrose is used in a hard-shell coating for a pellet gum. In a third embodiment, polydextrose is used in the center fill of a chewing gum. Polydextrose is also co-dried with other sweeteners, coevaporated to make syrups and used as an encapsulating agent for high-intensity sweeteners or flavors used in gum compositions.

Abstract: A building including high efficiency transparent insulation and optical shutter solar collector (HETIOSSC) to effectively control heat loss and gain in a passively-solar climate control system. HETIOSSC includes a layer of protective glazing, a transparent insulation, an optical shutter, an optional solar radiation absorbing material and optional heat storage elements. When the building and its heat storage are too warm, the optical shutter layer becomes opaque to prevent overheating. During cloudy and cold winter days, HETIOSSC still has a solar transmission and insulation efficiency great enough to collect sufficient sunlight for heating. Location of HETIOSSC on the roof, rather than the walls, does not alter shape and orientation of a building.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel process for preparing sulfonylurea derivatives of formula (I) in a high purity and a high yield characterized in that a sulfonylchloride of formula (V) is reacted with 2-amino-4,6-dimethoxypyrimidine of formula (VII) in the presence of a metal cyanate and an organic base catalyst or a compound of formula (VIII) is reacted with 2-amino-4,6-dimethoxypyrimidine of formula (VII): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or phenyl, R.sup.2 represents hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, allyl or propargyl and R.sup.3 represents hydrogen, methyl, ethyl or phenyl, and to a process for preparing the sulfonylchloride compound of formula (V) above and the compound of formula (VIII) above, both of which are useful as an intermediate compound for preparing the sulfonylurea derivative of formula (I) and to a novel intermediate compound of formula (VIII) as defined above.

Abstract: An infusion set for an intermittent or continuous administration of a therapeutical substance, such as insulin, comprises a cannula housing (1) with a soft plastic cannula (2) to be placed inside the body of a patient, where the cannula together with the cannula housing (1) form a through passageway the inlet of which into the cannula housing (1) is covered by a membrane. The infusion set comprises furthermore a needle hub (3) with a needle to be inserted in the through passageway of the cannula housing through the membrane. The infusion set comprises guide means for centering the needle relative to the membrane and the through passageway, as well as locking means (31, 32) for releasably interlocking the cannula housing (1) and the needle hub (3).
Abstract: A voltage level of an output node is reversed by an inverter. An output of the inverter is used as an initial setting signal. A feedback switching transistor is also provided in an initial value setting circuit. Furthermore, there is provided a limiting device for eliminating an abnormal operation of the feedback switching transistor until the inverter starts a normal operation, in the event of momentary power failure or when the electric power source is quickly turned on after a very short break. Accordingly, normal operation of the inverter is assured even in such an abnormal condition accompanying momentary interruption of power supply, thereby surely outputting an initial setting signal.
