  • Patent number: 6000094
Abstract: A removable and replaceable filter and filter holder is mounted within a mop cleaning bucket to receive dirt settling under gravity from the contained liquid with the dirt collecting in, and passing through so as to be trapped below, the filter and its holder. The holder is a rigid or substantially rigid perforated support structure spaced above and below the dirt receiving filter. In one embodiment, the holder is supported in the bucket in spaced relationship to the bottom of the bucket and protects the filter. The filter is a thin, sturdy, semi-rigid and floatable member with many holes so soiled water passes through and collects in the bottom of the bucket. The construction of the filter can be selected depending upon the material (grease sludge, dirt, oil, soot, or food particles) to be mopped up. The combination of the filter and filter holder blocks or dampens turbulence and prevents sediment from being stirred up in the bottom portion of the bucket.

  • Patent number: 5918343
Abstract: A combination mop bucket and wringer unit uses a thin walled plastic mop bucket with a cap-like wringer body which fits securely over the top of the bucket to form a unitary structure. The wringer body adds rigidity to the thin walled mop bucket so that it is able to resist the downward force of the wringer handle lever without buckling. The bucket may be lifted or otherwise moved using only the handle lever. The combination or unitary structure lifting a wringer, a bucket, a mop handle and a mop. Use in small cleaning areas where the combination bucket and wringer is carried from area to area is ideal for this device.

  • Patent number: 5902182
Abstract: An air exchange and cleaning system for building enclosures, particularly indoor firing ranges, which removes particulate matter, such as lead and other heavy metals, and gun powder residues and gases from the enclosure atmosphere. An air handler unit includes a particulate matter separator and five stages of filtration which filter both powder and gases from the air. Ducts connect the air handler unit to the enclosed area of the building. The system includes a control system which starts the air handler unit, checks the status of the filters and other operating systems of the air handler unit and ensures that a required minimum negative pressure within the enclosure is achieved before signals are sent to permit operations within the enclosure. In the example of an indoor firing range, the air handler unit and duct system purges the range of possibly contaminated air, checks for satisfactory system operation and ensures a predetermined negative pressure is reached before turning on lighting to the range.

  • Patent number: 5873165
Abstract: A pickup truck cab and box marrying and decking system for vehicle assembly plants is adapted to newer style pickup trucks in which portions of the box front end extend forwardly to wrap around the back corners of the cab to provide a flowing appearance. The disclosed system lifts the cab and box sections off skids on a first conveyor and transfers them to over a second conveyor bringing in a chassis frame. Measurement devices determine the position of locating fixtures on the frame. The cab and box sections are then brought together, or married, and are precisely aligned with the frame locating fixtures. The cab and box sections are then lowered to deck the married sections on the frame in precise alignment with the locating fixtures.

  • Patent number: 5852907
Abstract: A form tie for interlocking parallel and spaced foam panels. The tie is formed of an elongate planar strap having a lattice arrangement of openings for flow of concrete. Each of the opposite ends of the strap have an end plate and an inside plate spaced to bracket a corner of a foam form panel with each of the plates extending in a perpendicular or "Y" axis direction to the longitudinal or "X" axis of the strap. Each of the end portions forming the bracket also has vane shelves extending between the end and inside plates in a "Z" axis direction to the strap for support of the foam form panel corner. "U" shaped holders in the edges of the strap and overcenter tabs in the openings provide retainers to hold reinforcement bars, commonly termed rebar. The strap is preferably formed of a heavy gauge polypropylene.

  • Patent number: 5776033
Abstract: A removable chin-up bar arrangement includes spaced body members situated at opposite ends of a chin-up bar extending therebetween, the bar being rotatable with respect to the body members. Opposed pincher members are swingably attached to each of the body members and are adapted to extend about and hang the body members and the chin-up bar from and overhead support, such as the framing extending about an interior doorway. A gear tooth lock mechanism extending between the ends of the chin-up bar and each of the pincher members, the lock mechanism moving the pincher members in unison toward each other and causing the chin-up bar to rotate in a first direction and upon rotation of the bar in the opposite direction causes the pincher members to open from each other, permitting removal of the chin-up bar arrangement from the doorway.

  • Patent number: 5706623
Abstract: A carpet edge strip secures a carpet edge to the floor and is formed of an aluminum extrusion in the form of a substantially flat strip attached to the floor and with an upstanding rib protruding therefrom. A cap molding fits over the carpet edge strip and has a nose portion, a central slot or groove and a tail portion with the slot or groove tightly receiving the strip upstanding rib. The nose portion fits down against the strip on one side and the tail portion extends over the carpet edge on the other side, squeezing the carpet edge between the carpet edge strip and the cap to prevent the edge from coming loose and to provide a pleasing, finished appearance.

  • Patent number: 5288051
Abstract: A latching bolt mechanism for fastening adjacent concrete form panels together to make a larger form work is disclosed. The mechanism includes a base permanently mounted on a form panel and a slidably attachable and detachable latching bolt mechanism having a tapered engagement pin for penetrating aligned apertures in the side rails of adjacent panel forms. The latching bolt further includes a tapered pin sleeve engaging portion that is received in the central bore of a pin sleeve, allowing transverse, shearing forces on the engagement pin to be readily dissipated. The pin sleeve in turn reciprocates within the central bore of a self-lubricating guide sleeve, which is seated within a housing block. A detachable mounting system includes a mounting bracket attached to the form panel and mating flanges on the housing block.

  • Patent number: 5274878
Abstract: A remote control system for actuating a central vacuum system from a remote location such as a vacuum cleaning hose handle without the use of a separate, dedicated system of control wires. In a preferred embodiment, a small, lightweight FM radio frequency signal transmitter is installed in the hose handle and the signal is conducted along the household current 60 Hz wires running through the vacuum cleaner hose and wand for the purpose of providing electrical current to power sweeper brush motors. The piggybacked control signal requires no additional conductor wires, such as the low voltage wiring of conventional control systems, thereby saving weight and costs. The control signal travels along the power supply wires running the length of the vacuum hose, which are preferably covered by a sleeve, such as of cloth or plastic, then through a standard plug into a standard electrical outlet.
