  • Patent number: 7913250
Abstract: Migration of a user state from a source computing device to a destination computing device using a state migration point (SMP) is disclosed. The destination computing device may be the same as the source computing device but with a different operating system. The user state is securely stored by the SMP until the user state is restored on the destination computing device or a predetermined period of time has elapsed. Additional SMPs can be added without an architectural change. SMPs can be used to simultaneously migrate the states of multiple users of the source computing device to multiple destination computing devices. The SMPs can be restricted to migrate only the user states of computing devices with particular IP subnets. The SMPs can retain user states for a period of time after restoration in order to provide a backup, if necessary.

  • Patent number: 7747604
Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for dynamic sitemap creation. Embodiments of the present invention facilitate the placement of executable code behind a Sitemap feed. The executable code is configured to access objects from a data source (e.g., database, other data collection, Web service, etc.) and translates the objects into XML for inclusion in a Sitemap. Sitemap properties can be included in a configuration file and/or in a derived class and preserved within Sitemap entries. Thus, a Sitemap can be created directly and automatically from data at a data source. Accordingly, a Sitemap can be created without having to manually re-enter data from the data source into the Sitemap.

  • Patent number: 6684002
Abstract: An optical device that can be used in a range of telecommunications applications including optical multiplexers/demultiplexers and optical routers. The optical device splits and combines optical signals of frequency division multiplexed optical communication channels which are evenly spaced apart in frequency from one another. The optical device includes a first filter and a second filter. The first filter splits and combines odd and even channels depending on the propagation direction of the optical signal. The first filter exhibits complementary phase retardations corresponding with odd integer multiples of half a wavelength for each center wavelength associated with a selected one of the odd and even set of channels and with integer multiples of a full wavelength for each center wavelength associated with a remaining one of the odd set and the even set.
