    Abstract: A trailer for transporting and mixing concrete or similar products, comprising a wheeled frame and a mixing drum mounted to the wheeled frame for rotation in a first direction for mixing concrete and in a second direction for discharging concrete from the drum. A unidirectional driving connection is provided between a wheel of the frame and the mixing drum for rotating the drum in the concrete mixing direction as a result of movement of the wheeled frame. An electric motor is also provided on the frame for rotating the drum in the concrete discharging direction.

    Abstract: A refrigeration control apparatus especially adapted for use in conjunction with cryogenic coolers includes a brushless variable speed drive motor for powering a mechanical cooler-compressor and electronic control circuitry coupled to the motor allowing motor speed and hence cooling rate to be responsive to changes in the temperature of the volume sought to be cooled. A signal corresponding to sensed temperature is compared to a reference signal derived from motor speed. The difference therebetween used to vary the duty cycle of a high frequency pulse train. The pulse train is used to modulate the drive current applied to the motor through pulse position switching circuitry to vary the speed of the drive motor. High and low motor speed limits are provided along with sensor failure protection circuitry to insure continuous motor operation between chosen limits.

    Abstract: A process for purifying and refining gold from wastes and ores is disclosed. The gold to be refined is made the anode in an electroytic cell against an inert cathode. The electrolyte, essentially consists of an impregnated ammonium chloride solution. The impregnant is a nascent-oxygen source for leveling the gold overvoltage at the anode. The cathode is isolated from the gold-containing liquidus by a semi-permeable membrane. The ammonium chloride electrolyte serves as a solvent for the dissolved gold and also complexes with any silver and/or copper commonly found in the impure anode gold. The precipitation of the pure gold at 99.5'% purity is described. The anode is enclosed in an ion permeable bag for collecting any impurities which are insoluble in the gold-containing electrolyte. The pregnant electrolyte, the method and an apparatus for practicing the invention are described.

    Abstract: A truck bed cover is provided for the covering and protection of loads of varying height. The cover includes a generally rectangular center section of a size adapted to cover the truck bed, surrounded by four outwardly-extending panels or flaps. Each of the flaps is provided with a series of connectors designed to mate with compatible elements located on the truck bed sides. The connectors are arranged on the panels such that the panels may be folded to provide various effective heights for the cover, the folded portions of the panels being maintained in position by complementary fasteners located on the cover. In a preferred embodiment, the connectors are in the form of grommets which mate with studs located on the truck body.

An elastomeric element having a peripheral lip and a central shock-absorbing pedestal is placed within the container upon the inserted object and extends substantially across the inside diameter of the container in a non-wall-contacting configuration.     Abstract: A method for removing packaging from a cotton or similar bale comprises delivering the bale to a first station and fixing the bale in position at the station. A cutter mechanism is driven along the length of the bale to cut the bale strips. The bale is then released and passed to a second station where the strapping and a portion of the wrappings are removed. The bale is then passed to a third station where the bale is rotated 180 degrees about a transverse axis. The bale is passed to a fourth station where the remaining wrappings are removed. The bale is then transferred to a fifth station where the bale is made available for further processing of the cotton.

A second interior panel is hinged to the first panel, and bears a message sought to be delivered by said card. The display portion of the gift item bears a copy of the message portion appearing through the opening, thus creating a relationship between the card and gift item, the true intent thereof being known only to the item recipient.
