Abstract: A journal bearing, and a method of using the same, that utilizes self-retaining bearing shoes that prohibit relative movement between an aligning ring and the bearing shoes in the axial direction. In one aspect, the invention comprises an aligning ring; at least one shoe having a rear surface and a working surface for bearing contact with the rotating shaft, the at least one shoe having a flange extending from the rear surface; and the at least one shoe positioned in the aligning ring so that surface contact between the flange and the aligning ring prohibits the at least one shoe from separating from the aligning ring in an axial direction.
Abstract: Linear dampers are capable of offering an expected damping force without the use of oil or gas. A casing body 10 has a cylindrical portion 14 and a damping groove 15 continuing with each other and axially extending. The side face of the damping groove 15 are tapering faces 17 between which the space gradually opens up toward the opening of the damping groove 15. A slider 18 constituted of a first moving member 19 and a second moving member 20 is inserted into the casing 10. When the slider 18 is inserted into the casing 10, an inclined face 28 of the second moving member 20 and an inclined face 24 of the first moving member 19 are in contact with each other and tapering faces 29 of the second moving member 20 and the tapering faces 17 are in contact with each other.
Abstract: The invention relates to a radial piston hydraulic motor (100) and to a method in the control of a radial piston hydraulic motor. The radial piston hydraulic motor (100) includes a free rotation valve (50) which is built inside it and includes a spindle (19). The spindle (19) is disposed in a spindle cavity (20) and it is movable in the spindle cavity (20) such that, in a free rotation situation, shoulders of the spindle (19) block the inlet and outlet passages of working pressure. In a free rotation situation, springs (U1, U2 . . . ) press pistons (13a1, 13a2 . . . ) and press rollers (14a1, 14a2 . . . ) associated therewith to a bottom position and out of contact with a cam ring (11).
Abstract: A laser beam machine can make quality of machining almost constant in such a manner that a first reflecting means in a first beam guide portion is moved and driven so as to maintain a length of an optical path of laser beam to be almost constant in spite of a moved position of a machining head. According to the invention, a second reflecting means for catching laser beam in a second beam guide portion is located at a position facing the first reflecting means, thereby relatively shortening a length of the optical path between the first and second reflecting means and shortening the whole length of the optical path, and maintaining quality of machining with laser beam good.
Abstract: There is provided a bio-signal detector to detect a heart rate and a respiratory rate so that the determination of a kind of a seat load placed on a seat can be made. That is, whether the seat load is a human or an object is determined, and if it is the human, then the physique size is determined to be small or large (the level of the physique size is determined). Accordingly, as compared with the means based only on a weight of the seat load, the determination result is highly reliable. Besides, with the use of the bio-signal detector, the discrimination between the human and the object is ensured. Moreover, a structure additionally including a weight sensor allows the determination of the physique size in more accurate manner.
Abstract: A method of promoting the healing of a lesion in a smooth muscle, comprising selecting a smooth muscle portion having a lesion and applying a non-excitatory electrical field to the portion, which field reduces the mechanical activity of the portion.
Abstract: The device of the present invention provided an electrostimulation system with electromyographic and visual biofeed back for sensing electromyographic impulses and facilitating muscular activity. The electrostimulation system comprises stimulator that is adapted to generate an electric impulse and at least one pair of electrodes adapted to transmit the electric impulse or to receive electromyographic impulses. The system further comprises an amplifier electrically communicating with the pair of electrodes, the amplifier is adapted to amplify the received electromyographic impulses and a filtering unit electrically communicating with the amplifier and is adapted to remove artifacts from the received electromyographic impulse. A commutation block is electrically communicating with the pair of electrodes and is adapted to alternately transfer the electromyographic impulses to the amplifier or to transfer the generated electric impulse from the stimulator.
