  • Patent number: 6451083
Abstract: Metal baghouse dust can be solidified and thereby used for a variety of different purposes including a binder material by blending the electric arc furnace dust with a reducing agent such as ferrous chloride or ferrous sulphate. This forms a solidified mass which has excellent hardness and high temperature strength enabling it to be directly added to molten metal. Particles coated with hardened metal baghouse dust can be used in the Midrix process or can be used to add carbon to molten metal. This is an excellent way to dispose of waste metal baghouse dust.

  • Patent number: 6396979
Abstract: An adjustable focusing assembly for use with an optical probe includes a focusing element having a first and a second end mounted within a holder member. The holder member is secured to the optical probe with the focusing element optically coupled to the light images projecting from the light probe. A window having an inner and an outer surface is mounted on a body member with the window inner surface in a facing and spaced relationship to the focusing element second end. The body member further includes a cowled portion extending from the periphery of the body member on a side opposite the window, arranged to engage surfaces on the periphery of the holder member, thereby defining a cavity between the focusing element second end and the window inner surface. The body member is adjusted, increasing or alternatively decreasing the cavity until the light images from the focusing element second end are focused on the window outer surface.

  • Patent number: 6375286
Abstract: A security cover for display cases includes cooperating generally L-shaped rigid frangible-resistant panels. A hook-shaped lower edge of each panel is coupled to an anchor rail fixedly mounted to the base of the display case. Each panel is then pivoted upwardly to cover a portion of the display case. The panels include flanges along an upper terminal edge thereof. The flanges are mated together in a U-shaped lock bar and a lock to securely couple the panels together and enclose the glass faces of the display case in a frangible-resistant protective cover to inhibit breakage of the glass faces and theft of the contents of the display case.
