Abstract: An illuminating device for illuminating the interior of a hand-held container. The illuminating device comprises a housing, a lighting circuit, and a sound discriminator operably connected to the lighting circuit. In one embodiment of the invention the sound discriminator is adapted to activate a light source in response to predetermined level and/or frequency of sound energy detected inside the hand-held container.
Abstract: A bedding system for inhibiting sheets being inadvertently pulled out from between a mattress and a box spring. The bedding system includes a pair of cover members comprising a main portion and a friction enhancing portion. The main portion of one of the cover members is designed for receiving the mattress whereby the main portion of the other one of the cover members is for receiving the box spring. The friction enhancing portion of one of the cover members engages the friction enhancing portion of the other one of the cover members whereby the friction enhancing portion of each of the cover members is designed for frictionally engaging a portion of the sheets positioned between the mattress and the box spring to inhibit the portion of the sheets from inadvertently sliding out from between the mattress and the box spring.
Abstract: A downstream wind turbine for converting wind energy into electrical energy. In a preferred embodiment the downstream wind turbine adapted to respond to high winds and gyroscopic precession. The downstream wind turbine comprises a support tower; a yaw bearing attached to the support tower; a support frame operably linked to the bearing; at least one swing arm with one end pivotally attached to the support frame; an elongated carry member pivotally attached to the other end of the swing arm; a wind driven energy conversion system balanced on and attached to the carry member so that the carry member is biased to maintain an approximately horizontal orientation with respect to the support frame and in response to wind proportionally swings downstream, and which responds to gyroscopic precession forces by tilting up or down; and a governor device for modifying at least one dynamic characteristic of the turbine.
Abstract: An alignment and support device for supporting and maintaining correct alignment of at least one pipe or conduit inside a form board during a concrete pour operation, the device comprising at least two attachment points for holding a pipe or conduit, and at least one attachment bracket, wherein the at least one attachment bracket is capable of attaching the alignment and support device to a form board.
