Abstract: An apparatus for illuminating a license plate includes a reflector, one or more light emitting diodes mounted on a substrate, all positioned within a housing. The light emitting diode or diodes project light directed at the reflector. The reflector has a surface geometry for redirecting the light through a window in the housing such that it substantially uniformly illuminates the license plate. The apparatus preferably does not include a lens. The apparatus may include a light emitting diode or diodes and a curved free form reflector. The apparatus may also include a plurality of reflectors or reflector segments, each corresponding to a light emitting diode.

Abstract: A fluid filter for spin-on mounting to a base includes an outer shell defining a hollow interior and a nutplate secured to the outer shell by forming an upper edge portion of the outer shell onto the nutplate. A filtering element is positioned within the hollow interior and the base provides fluid-in and fluid-out passageways for the fluid filter. To provide a face seal against the base and concurrently a radial seal against the formed edge, a retainer and gasket assembly is used. The retainer has a base portion which rests on the nutplate and an inclined portion which extends upwardly and inwardly. An elastomeric gasket with a unique cross sectional shape has a flat portion which rests on the inclined portion. With axial compression of the gasket by the base, the gasket compresses against the retainer and expands radially into sealing contact with the formed edge.

Abstract: Methods for forming, filling, and sealing a flexible recloseable container. Both vertical and horizontal methods for placing product within the container are disclosed. The invention includes guiding a web of film which has interlocking fastener strips sealed to the web. A slider for locking and unlocking the fastener strips is placed in the correct orientation, spread apart at a pair of inner feet, and inserted over the fastener strips. The slider is positioned to close a substantial portion of the strips, and then an end stop, docking station, and comer seal are formed against a sealing plate. The slider is then repositioned, and a tamper evident seal may be placed over the fastener strip. Placing a product in a flexible recloseable container.

Abstract: A method and system for sealing or covering exposed fuses on a semiconductor device are disclosed. A semiconductor device prober incorporating a spray device for applying a sealing compound to individual fuses on a semiconductor device subsequent to testing the semiconductor device is disclosed. A method and system for sealing exposed fuses on a semiconductor device is disclosed which allows the sealing step to be performed either prior to or following singulation of the semiconductor device into individual dice.

Abstract: A water heater construction including an inner tank for containing water surrounded in spaced apart relationship by an outer shell. A sleeve of insulation material, such as fiberglass mat is located in the annular space between the inner tank and outer sleeve and extends from proximate the bottom end of the water heater construction upwardly longitudinally thereof a distance less than the entire height of the water heater construction such that the top edge of the insulation sleeve is a distance below the top end of the water heater construction. The top edge of the insulation sleeve includes an annular cuff which is of a radial thickness greater than the radial thickness of the rest of the insulation sleeve such that the cuff is compressed between the interior wall surface of the outer shell and exterior wall surface of the inner tank.
